Besides complain alot!

What prevents us from impeaching the leaders we elect that don't do their job or do it so horribly that it takes years to recover?

We are doing nothing but complaining. We get the leaders we deserve because we don't care - we drive gas guzzling SUV's, we start wars and kill people, we allow our rights to be trampled on - as long as get our ipods, mp3's, cell phones and McDonalds, we have no interest in making the government do what it is supposed to do, govern according to the will of the people.

I used to be optimistic and think we could do this through voting. Then along came the 2004 Presidential election. ALL evidence available to voters indicated that GWB should NOT be reelected. Yet he was. So much for doing it through voting. No matter what Republicans say about how weak of a candidate Kerry was, he was NOT the lesser of the two evils in that election.

We can't impeach. Congress does that.

People seem to forget that basic fact. The Constitution gives the right to impeach to Congress. The House must vote to allow impeachment to go forward and the Senate actually conducts the trial and votes to impeach or acquit.

WE aren't doing anything except polarizing each other more and more and doing exactly what the politicians want us to do. The more we focus on impeaching somebody the less we are focused on watching exactly what our elected bodies are doing. As long we are focused on the wrong things, we don't scrutinize and we become lethargic. Right where they want us to be. Why, they get to keep their job and their power.

Agreed! That being said, I would consider the 06 election as a display of expressing outrage at the DC crowd.

In order to be impeached, a crime must be committed. If you Know of one then you are privilege to knowledge the rest of the world does not have. As much as you libs hate Bush, don't you think he would have been impeached already if he had done something illegal?

I would say that if you got enough poeple together....I mean hundreds of thousands....walk over to the white house and protest...Congress would wake up....but it is very difficult to find hundreds of thousands of people that care enough to give it the time. There are not many poeple in this country that care enough....becasue alot of poeple that live here now are from other countries.

We should be staying active, by calling and writing. Witness the immigration bill this past summer - the legislators finally listened!

And ALWAYS vote.

Groups like CREW and Judicial Watch sue for information and expose them! Then it is up to the Dept. of Justice to get off their dead fannies and prosecute.
