It doesn't - it has wheels.

I've got an Audi A6 Avant - that's the estate version - with a 2.7L Turbo engine, and it's the best fun i've had in years. The interior is spacious, well equipped and functional. The drive, for an estate, is nimble (though this is the big engine version) and handling is OK though a bit on the numb side at times. It's extremely quiet, good looking - not too hard or too 'hair dresser'! I'm going to by another, so what more can I say....

Audi is probably the most understated secret of the auto industry. They're made of the most premium materials available on planet earth. Even the interior fabrics have been tested by the dessert heat of Africa. The engines all have piston wrist-pin squirters that extend the engine life of the engine components with abundant lubrication, preventing premature wear (if you use syntheic oil like Mobil-One, or Pentosin) and will probably work like new for twenty or more years. The body of the car is made from two-sided galvanized steel with a special process that practically fuses the paint to the metal and is virtually "self-healing" The suspensions are race proven. In general, since 1980's, hardly anything has ever beaten and Audi in a crash test. It was engineered to "run" at speeds in excess of 130 MPH on the autobahns without even getting hot. The exhaust systems are made from stainless steel and will virtually not wear. If you are lucky enough to be able to buy an A6, you should!!! Especially if it's the wonderful 2.7T engine..If it's high mileage, go the Mercury boat store and buy a spray can of "power tune" and spray it directly throught the oil filler cap and drive for two days to remove any "muck" from antiquated non-synthetic oil and do an oil change. Watch for the tarry sludge come out at your next oil change!! Chances are the transmission fluid will never need to be changed (It's a special synthetic material that's gold in color). Keep the engine compartment show room new with do -it- yourself car wash shampooing, and read your owner's manual from cover to cover twice. Discover the brilliance of exceptional no compromise engineering and enjoy to the fullest. Buy an after market chip for the engine computer (tap company) to improve your power and gas mileage and don't look back!!!! Use only Mobil or Marathon gas to prevent any further internal sludging (They have the best detergent qualities and best burning charcteristics) ENJOY, ENJOY, ENJOY.

The A6 is a lot sweeter than the A4! The A6 handles really well and is fun to drive but I am just not a fan of the look....but then that is the irony with Audis! They give the appearance of a boring car and are packed so that the person driving is smuggly impressed with themselves but any one who hasn't driven one doesn't have a clue!

They run great and hold up for years and look new i have a 97 that is rust free (due to the galvanized body panels) and the 89 100 i had is still running and being driven by a local high school student i sold it to (also rust free) the Quattro system is great and i highly recommend quattro although unless you are going to tune the car i would go with the non turbo V6 only because it will be cheaper to maintain (no turbo replacement which is pricey) build quality is unsurpassed in my opinion i would put the interior of my old 89 100 up in a comparison against the interior of a 2000 E class MB and i honestly think the Audi would win. Both in how its held up and the initial design.

As an owner of one (year 2000), they run very well - are steady and stable handlers at high speeds, are attractive both inside and out (I think the interior appointments are a bit nicer than the BMW, which tends to be a bit plainer in appearance).

Only problem is that they aren't cheap to maintain, so budget accordingly.
