There is a special resetting tool that fits into the diagnostic socket in the engine bay. Its cheap to buy and instructions of reseting is very easy. Or get it pluged in to a scan tool wich will clear the service engine.

Most cars will reset the trouble codes in the computer if you disconnect the battery for a couple hours.

look on ebay. there are people selling tools and instuctions. i got instructions for my e36 reset for a pound. no tools needed
