PS3 has a HDMI 1.3 output.

HDMI is the same signals as a DVI-D single link cable, plus thos signals can be encrypted to the HDCP standard.

So any TFT panel that has a DVI connector is capable of displaying some sort of picture from the PS/3, you just need the HDMI to DVI cable. Make sure you get a cable with the mini HDMI 1.3 connector.

The caveats are:

When you stick a Blu-Ray disk in your PS3 to watch a movie. If the monitor does not support HDCP then you are going to get a blank screen.

DVI does not support audio over video. So you will need a separate cable to connect up whatever speakers you use.

So, if you are going to go out and buy a monitor, then get one with DVI that supports HDCP encryption. There might be a few monitors out there that are starting to use a HMDI connector, it is a lot smaller and is becoming more of a standard.

And buy a decent set of external speakers. I have yet to see a monitor that has speakers I would like to listen to a movie with.

If the TFT monitor has DVI input (a white trapezoid shaped port with many pins) then just use an HDMI male to DVI male adapter cable and plug it in.

If the Monitor only Analog VGA (Blue trapezoid with 15 pins) then use component video cables from the PS3 and buy this thing.

tft describes the manufacturing process of the LCD screen....nothing else.

FYI it stands for Thin Film Transistor

i take advantage of an usual liquid crystal exhibit exhibit screen (22") to play video games, and am more than chuffed with it. Widescreen is sturdy for action picture gazing adventure although i'm no longer too particular of video games. personal opportunities be counted maximum the following, so i might want to choose the established liquid crystal exhibit. Works sturdy with the computing device too.

well computer monitors don't have hdmi outputs (or not that i'm aware off)

Maybe you can buy some piece of hardware to put between the two cables.

If you can find an lcd monitor with hdmi, buy that one.
