The computers at schools, at least the public schools, are designed for you to do research and homework and that sort of stuff. MySpace is a networking site that many think cause distractions. Also many taxpayers don't appreciate their tax money being spent on computer for schools that are being used for "fun" things. Foremost and probably the biggest silent kept reason is if you "meet" someone while on a school computer and even school time and that person turns out to be a pedophile or rapist or murderer and something happens to you as a result then the school system can be sued as a result.
Your next step is to go back to "ask". Then ask this question, "What are some proxies that I can use to get by my school blocking MySpace out?" You will receive at least 20 responses with sites that you can get to and from within that site go to MySpace. This way you bypass the schools "restrictions".GOOD LUCK !!!!!!

Because you are at school to be getting an education not to be checking on your internet social life.
To say that MySpace is your best friend is a little pathetic... Stop worrying about Myspace and more about your education, seems as though you may need it.

Because kids would spend the time they are supposed to use on researching project on Myspace. Its really not that serious to check your myspace all the time, wait till your at home.

hahaha... cool down! i know school totally suck, and blocking certain websites is just a preventive measure. i think the reason why your school blocked myspace is because they regard myspace as non-educational and distracts students from their studies. another reason is that they are afraid that you guys might meet crooks or perverts through myspace, so they blocked it to protect your welfare.

Ignoring the legal issues of allowing children to be exposed to sites that may not be safe, I guess it is because Myspace has no benefit to your education and just uses up valuable time and bandwidth on the schools internet connection.

it's because people can put nudity on myspace and they put curse words on it which is why they block it too man y people put inappropriate things on there

Because it does nothing to further your education, manages to consume vast amounts of peoples time, and encourages people to publish personal details about themselves (which is a feature very popular with certain unpleasant people who would want to take advantage in various illegal ways).
