if you want it to keep the natural look, use a sealer that is NOT a gloss or semi gloss.

Without knowing at all the properties of the wood in question, or the intricacies; or any intended use; "re-finishing" might alter any of those issues.

Certainly without knowing the condition of it currently; "HOW TO" might not suggest what you want for a result?

As one answer states a MATTE finish clear coat might suffice.

In my opinion the very nature of driftwood is not only that IT survived DRIFTING; but has been scavanged for specific reasons; and I want to retain and maintain its "character"
