both NIE and Bush are like brothers and both knew for a long time now that Iran isn't trying to develop nuclear weapons and NIE report comes out at a time that it was only a matter of time for it to get confirmed by the world. NIE had to save face by using Bush who had nothing more to loose! why did it take so long for NIE to come out and at least say there isn't yet any evidences....?

Can't hide the truth for ever ?! Administration needed an excuse to justify possible bombing of Iran ?! The media has portrayed Iran as a monster to gain public support. It's a dirty game of politics.

My Best Regards.

The Vice President fought the public release of that information, which Bush had to be aware of from the start. It never would have reached the public had Congress not requested the information. Knowing that it would be public knowledge in a Congressional Hearing, the statistics were released.

It is unconscionable that a President would continue to hawk War with this kind of information available. At the same time, the retired Generals have stepped forward and said pretty much the same thing, do not attack Iran. But the War-Mongers surged forward with gusto, confident they could sway the public, just as they did with Iraq.

Can you imagine the uproar in the White House? A sucker punch by the same people who thronged to help him start a war in Iraq on false info! It's far past time we got this bunch of thugs out of office and found leaders we can trust. The NeoCons will argue against this report just as they do the despicable behavior that brought us into Iraq, but how long can our country excuse and support liars?

Basically they are just getting themselves off the hook and trying to get face back for the next administration.
Bush is sticking to his story.

They are saying that they closed the nuclear project down.

Bush is sticking to his story that they are doing things undercover. He also stated that they could have the knowledge to build one.
I can not remember when it was a crime to have the knowledge to do something.
it's obvious that Iran, Russia, China and North Korea are friends. Iran was invited to to the war games between China and Russia. It would seem obvious that if Iran wanted the knowledge that any one of those countries would be of assistance.
In any case it is not a crime to know something.

Yes poor Iran. They've been maligned and mistreated. It's important to recognize that while their nuclear pursuit may not be active as a whole, there are still facets of the program that NIE openly said in the same report that are still ongoing. Additionally, it's very important to stay focused. Iran is still a weapons distribution center for terror cells like Al Qaeda and Hezbollah and they are funneling weapons into Iraq without doubt. Those weapons are being used to kill Americans and Iraqis alike.

##Al Qaeda and Hezbollah are enemies? Please don't be fooled. These people are OUR enemies. And they will do Anything to destroy you are any other American or Christian that they come across. Including unite. They give not a dam where the weapon comes from as long as they can kill with it. Your speculative energies are being wasted on something you obviously haven't seen. Please go ask a veteran what they saw in Iraq. Obviously you didn't see it. Ask the family or the Marine who got half his body ripped apart from an IED made in Iran. Any would tell you Iran is the supplier that needs to be stopped. And by the way, if you are lucky you will never have to see a child blown apart in front of you. Nor see the remains of a brother as you drag him out of a burning Hummer because We Don't Leave Anyone Behind. I welcome your opinion and did my part to keep terrorists from coming back to our shores to kill Americans, so you could continue to have that opinion. Recognizing and naming a threat doesn't make me Bush. I am not his biggest fan but on the other hand, I am very aware of the burning desire of extreme factions to slowly saw off the head of every Christian they come across and burn the remains. You should be outraged at what they are willing to do and thankful that we have prevented them thus far from making it back to our own country.

My understanding is that there has been no evidence since 2003. Is NIE using Bush or Bush using NIE? It all stinks.

I just wonder why there is NO accountability for 4 years worth of misinformation being spread by the White House...

And why on earth would Bush harken some "World War 3" scenario that was NOT supported by intelligence?

Let's call the Iranian's bluff ! How about the Swiss and the Swedes put together an inspection team, demand full access to ALL of Iran's facilities unannounced, and see how "truthful" those idiots in Tehran really are ?

If you think they will comply, you and I need to play a game of poker...bring ALL of your money !

You may want to risk your kids on Iranian lies, I DON'T !!!!

Yes they both know Iran has no weapons program, but they are desperately trying to establish the lie that Iran had a weapons program in 2003.

I would rather they take their time and check, double check and triple check if necessary before publishing information of this manner. As long as they stop the cowboy before his itchy trigger finger gets us into more trouble that is plenty good enough.
