While Frontline is known for a liberal bias, there is no arguing with the facts presented in the series. They are meticulous at fact checking. You can disagree with their conclusions and their presentation, but generally they get the facts pretty straight.
I think that Cheney insisted on giving the white house more power because that is how he believes that government will work (when Rs are in the white house at least). He thinks they are right and the ends justify the means. He doesn't seem to have a historical perspective as to the importance of the separation of powers. Just my opinion.

Because Cheney is the anti-Christ, coveting money and power above decency and honor. Cheney (and Bush) had specific objectives in place that would enrich their "Big Oil" associates. Cheney obviously believes that he is above the law, and has shown nothing but disdain for our U.S. Constitution. He is the worst traitor in American history, and deserves to be tried in a court of law for high crimes against the United States and its people. -RKO- 12/05/07

this had gone on in every single administration..debate over the separation of powers is age-old and shouldn't be seen by anyone as unique. Try looking into the gross power grab FDR got away with because of the Economic conditions he was facing..the average American today would be dismayed
and others justify it as necessary because of the crisis he faced and WWII being important to the world..which is also debatable if you believe Armanajad (sp,) and the other holocaust deniers

It creates a nice power grab for the newly elected president in 2008, domestic laws are unmoving--the Constitution is the law, amendments may not be used to subvert individual rights.

There will be dancing in the street "if" he ever dies.
First heart attack at 37 and still going, he must be a hologram.
Oh right the question, he's still mad about them getting caught in that whole Iran contra thing that they made North take the dive on. It's all about getting filthy rich.

he has wanted to recreate the "imperial" presidency that Nixon was building (that worked so great for him!) that Cheney worked for in his youth
of course the very idea is unpatriotic and anti-american and against everything the US stands for

The US Constitution outlined Presidential power and you're trying to "blame" it on Cheney based on an article from the third most biased source (pro liberal.)
