My cousin has just named her absolutely gorgeous baby girl Storm, god knows why, anyone else think it's awful? She can't decide what to name the boy (it's twins) either Berry, Monty or Fred!

They have a brother called Troy.

Her partner is the one who likes weird names! He already has two daughters called Coral and Melody.

I agree, Storm is terrible, she needs her head looking at? and the boys names, oh my god! Is she on drugs? What does her partner say? I'd suggest Connor for the boy and if she comes to her senses, Summer for the girl, as its a similar theme but much nicer.

Coral (which I quite like) and Melody (which is run-of-the-mill and slightly dated, to be honest) are a far cry from Storm. LOL And I'd have to say, if she goes with Berry for a boy, it will seem they got the names reversed -- "fruity" choices generally being seen as feminine and "Storm" sounding like a roided-out American Gladiator. Shame. LOL

I've no problem with Monty or Fred ... as NICKNAMES. How one goes from obviously-nature-inspired choices to informal, immature pet forms is beyond me. Especially when there are so many palatable, even interesting names in that same genre already.

Audra or Tempest - both mean "storm," after all ;)
Briar
Dahlia
Iris
Pearl/Perla
Ruby
Emerald
Azalea
Zinnia
Dara/Darragh
Heath
Forrest
Perry - far preferable to one-letter-off Berry LOL

Really, as uncommon or familiar as they'd like. Storm and Berry or Storm and Fred just don't say quite the same thing, in my mind. ;)

Coral and Melody are not as weird as Storm! Fred is the best out a bad bunch for the boys name. Boys names I like are Marcus, Ethan, Nathan, Harley, Dominic, Evan, Conrad, Curtis, Calvin, Lewis, Connor, Keiron, Blake, Blair, Travis, Harrison.

If they really want to select from those names, I'd name the boy Storm and the girl Berry (maybe named Berri).
Coral is actually very pretty and not weird at all!

I agree with you, it sounds way too dramatic and "emo" for a little girl to be called that!

I nearly puked when I saw Berry! But Fred is not a bad name and I guess Monty isn't that horrible

Oh the poor child, definitely not Berry or Monty. It has to be Fred

I think these days you show individuality by choosing conventional names. I cringe when I hear mothers in the supermarket calling their kids Hunter or Rainbow or some nonsense like that! She should go for Fred. it's not the best name, but it gives the kid the best chance of not getting beaten up at school!
