Think of yourself as this; in the Welsh language, there is no word for the English nor for England. Indeed the words in the Welsh language used to describe England, translate to read, "lost land".

You do not exist and therefore have nothing to be proud of or have any reason to think yourself as great.

One of your most famous Generals, The Duke of Wellington, was actually Irish - a Celtic person.

Here's a Welsh phrase to add to your knowledge - "Celtii bew" [Kelti-e-eye byoo"] - dead easy to say and it means "The living Celts".

Worse to come. All the DNA tests now being carried out by Oxford University in Cornwall and Wales, point to a people who's ancestory goes back 12,000 [yes, that's a staggering twelve thousand years].

So, next time you wonder who built Stone Henge, you'll have no excuse for not knowing. Yes, it was us, the Celts of Cornwall and of Wales - both groups belong to the same race - Brythonic Celts - The British. We are also directly related to the Irish and also to the Scots.

Oops. Seems you are surrounded. May as well give up now then.

Even worse. The River Thames still bears it's original ancient Celtic name - THEMSIS. Oh and the county of Kent also still has it's Celtic names CANT after the Cantiacii - also Canterbury - and you thought this was England? Wrong. This is Britain - Breten.

I wasn't aware that they were. Can you give us some details to back up your claim? Or is just jealousy?

I can give you one hint at why they are so "different" (not necessarily great or better than anyone else) - it's the U.S. in front of the "English". In England, they'd just be another Brit. Here, they're apt to feed the Anglo-phile tendencies of the average American. More power to 'em!

And ... Booman? Apparently you've never seen the condition of a Brits teeth. England has one of THE worst dental care systems in the world. If you see an Englishman with a bright set of teeth, it's more than likely dentures.

"great" and "better" are opinions - as regards history and culture - Britain went to great lengths to dessimate other cultures just so as they could be on top - for example - Ireland had democracy, Latin and Greek scholars and the largest collection of pre-Christain literature in Europe before English people even existed - but England made short work of that...

so I guess what makes English people great and better than everyone else is their iconoclasm and barbarism - you were willing to be destructive and murderous to extents that others were not - well done!

I am an American and I am actually quite glad to see our brothers and sisters across the pond finally taking a little pride in their Country and heritage. There is much to be proud of. Lately, all I seem to hear was a lot of whining and self flagellation from the UK.

You have every right to be proud.
