I'm afraid that seawater might have adverse effect to the contact lenses in my eyes. I could wear goggles but can't totally prevent seawater from reaching my eyes with contact lenses.

I wore my contacts snorkeling and had no problems. With snorkeling your on the surface all the time, so if water starts to leak in, you just dump it out and start again. One thing to do is make sure you have a tight seal by inhaling through your nose a little bit. This decreases the pressure inside the goggles and creates a tight seal.

Seawater isn't too harsh on contacts. It's no saltier than saline solution, and I've found at some beaches the water is soothing.

Yes...Wear a dive mask.

If you don't want to wear a mask, and are going to insist on goggles...find a pair that fits your face. But, a mask is better.

Contacts would be a seriously bad idea. They would trap the organic component of the seawater against the eye surface.

Besides, once you're underwater, the water gives you a 20% boost to your vision, so someone who wears mild corrective lenses on land does not need to wear them underwater.

If the corrective effect of the water is still not enough for you, a prescription mask lens will have to be the way to go...but they are quite expensive.

Sea water will not hurt your contact lenses. When one snorkles one usually wears a SCUBA diving or snorkling mask. The mask will keep your eyes dry and keep your contacts from washing out. If your mask does leak or flood with water, simply close your eyes, press the highest point of the mask lightly with your palm and blow out your nose. The air you blow into the mask will expell the water that leaked in.

The salt content in the water wont bother your lenses, it may burn your eyes a little,if you get enough water in. But then, if you have your snorkels tight enough attached to your head, the chance that sea water is seeping to eye level is small.
If you are still in doubt, you can ask your optician.

Contacts won't work, but you can get snorkeling goggles with various, general prescriptions built in.
