Will hard line US foreign policy simply be echoed with hard line foreign policy in return?
Most Americans hate Iran. Most Iranians hate America. A war hawk leads the USA. A war hawk leads Iran.
Does this seem like a recipe for peace?
What do you think it will take to defuse the American/Iranian situation and build an environment of trust between these two peoples?
Or, will only war settle this problem?

i think it will take a different president and a different
approach. war should be last resort, thats why we have
united nations.
we should try the united nations approach and watch iran
carefully.
hopefully if they get a new president as well as us that
might help. you asked a good question.

I don't think most Americans hate Iran, nor do I think most Iranians hate America. This is a myth that some people would like others to believe, that these two groups can't get along and have to fight it out. Don't buy the hype. The recent NIE report seems to be a good stepping stone towards calming down the sabre rattling.

I disagree with your contention that most Americans hate Iranians. I know many Iranians and Ahmadinejad is highly unpopular now with the Iranian public. I also believe that most Iranians don't hate Americans.

It's the right wing extremists in both countries who are driving the push to war. Wouldn't life be so much better without right wing extremists?

The easiest way to get people to agree is to find a common enemy.

As long as there is very little tolerance for diversity, trust may never happen.

Also, all the citizens must take interest and responsibility. Letting things happen because you think you can't fight the "authority", is the biggest excuse for the crimes against humanity.

"most Americans hate Iran"

Really? I don't hate Iran. Why would I hate Iran?

And I've seen documentaries on Democracy Now which shows that the average Iranian CITIZEN has no problem with AMERICANS whatsoever. They aren't too crazy about bush, though. And neither am I.

War isn't even an option.

WAR IS OBSOLETE.

I am a firm believer in in reaping what you sow. For those who ignore the the poor calling them lazy bums when many of them are mentally ill or vets .I feel sorry for you too, because it will come back to haunt you. As far as George Bush goes ,he has a lot of blood on his hands. He seems to disregard diplomacy.

It will not come to war. Amadinajad doesn't have the stones to declare open war on the USA. He will continue his Islamic madman rhetoric in the hopes of gathering more radical madmen to his cause. He will continue to sponsor sneak attack terrorism. That is what psychopaths do.
