Why should we hear about body bags and deaths? Oh, I mean, it's not relevant. So why should I waste my beautiful mind on something like that?"

Yeah, that's old. It caused quite a sensation, too. I'm surprised you didn't hear about it!
Isn't it astonishing to hear this out of the mouth of a BUSH? They can make decisions which costs the lives of hundreds of thousands of brothers, fathers, sisters, mothers - BUT DON'T YOU DARE BOTHER THEM WITH THE DETAILS.

I have never heard that either and the article that was suggested by Ken is great. But what this brings to my mind is that we all need to PAY ATTENTION to what the political climate is in this country and most of us don't until we run across something like this. I mean this happened in '03 for goodness sakes. I feel like if we all would do our research, not base our opinions on what we hear others say or what the media says, we could have a better government. Maybe if we voted on the facts and not on the hearsay of others we could change things. When congress was deciding if it would back a war in Iraq, if we all would have taken the time, or had the time to really investigate all of the facts, it never would have happened. We have to let our voices be heard by our votes and if we don't vote intellegently then we will keep having the issues we are having. Unfortunatly the worlds climate and our previous acts make it difficult if not impossible to practice the peace we all desire. I certainly pray Barbara Bush did not mean her statement the way it sounded but I seriously doubt it, she probably meant every word of it. I have had a son in law and currently a grandson in Iraq and I can tell you I think about death and body bags every day. Not just our soldiers but others in the countries we have invaded. There will always be wars I'm afraid and they will always seem senseless to somebody and there will always be callous people like Barbara Bush.

At beginning of war Defense Dept order thirty thousand body bags. She might not care about that, but those of us that didn't want to see one used do care. Wonder if we can get the Doe System number for barbarian changed to 1600.

What else can we expect from a woman who said that some of the Katrina victims were better off after the hurricane than they were before it?
EDIT: For those of you who don't believe she said it, it's on record that she said it in an interview that was conducted by Diane Sawyer on "Good Morning, America".

When one is at war he must face the blood and gore along with the victories and glory. She seems to be very sheltered from reality. Many extremely wealthy people are. It seems that family is very out of touch with reality.

I hate barbara bush...did you hear how rude she was to The Simpson's creators? And they've always portrayed her as smart and generous.

Disgusting. Especially when you take into account her son sent them there to die!
Here is a good article from a military family member commenting on that interview:

Sociopaths breed new Sociopaths...what did you expect? I mean really! The son is a sociopath, so it should hardly be surprising that the mother, and the father are also both sociopaths. *sm*
