Pull the memory from the motherboard. It should be labled on the stick itself.

Yeah, what they said, but if you don't want to do that. It might help to know what motherboard you have in your case.
If you don't have the manual, or bought an HP or Dell, maybe if you check the manufacturer's website, it will be listed in the "specs" section.
G.Skill has a pretty slick website, which is where I bought my last 2 gig set of PC3200 DDR non-ECC RAM. They look slick in their metallic red heatsink housings! (and they perform well, and are stable too!)

You can download cpuz-1.42. It is a very small hardware diagnostic program. It will scan your system and tell you what mother board, ram, etc, that you are running. It is available at:

you can hit the windows logo key+pause key and it should show the information. That way you don't have to open up your PC. if that doesn't work go to the my computer icon right click and then click on properties.

Check your owner's manual. Or go to Crucial.com and let their program check your system. It will tell you exactly what you have in the machine, what you can upgrade to, and what your max RAM can be.

Hi,
Good question... best not remove it just to find out what it is... might break it and it's hassle anyway.
get CPU-Z here:
http://www.cpuid.com/cpuz.php
and/or go to crucial for guaranteed compatible memory
