Why do women teachers who have sex with their students...?

...normally get little punishment, but male teachers are immediately sent to jail for many years?

Saw this article today and was amazed that this teacher who had sex with a 14yr old boy only got HOUSE ARREST and probation.

Yeah, Now don't you get it? criminal law really makes no sense at all.
Why do some rapists get life, and some get 6 months? Why do some bank robbers get life, and some get 1 year?
And don't we all know, that if that teacher was a man, and the student was a female. He would get a harsher punishment...

well... the world is not fair...males are considered voilient so natruraly everyone has a slight edge towards men and therfor are sticter in rule. when it comes to women have a higher standers and slight more respect in the public if u remember school the girls are allowed to wear hats while boys must take off their hats in class.

thats bc we have to act like we women are equal but we all know they arent...we always have to go easier on them...just like women in the military.....its not equal man and it never will be....how about telling your little girl on her sweet 16 forget the pony and go get a job! that things would start becoming normal

i think it has to do with the fact that it does not often happen. i also do remember the case of the 37 year old woman who got pregnant with a 15 year old.

Society is screwed up. They think a boy isn't hurt by being raped which is probably true, but true for consenting minor girls as well.

Its just the way our society is setup. Crimes against certain groups of people are treated differently then the same crimes against another group of people. Its not just women, it can be applied to virtually every group.

women always get lighter sentences. women who kill their husband get like 10 years in jail, and you think theyre gonna put away a hot chick for letting some teenager score? its just the way it is right now for some reason.
