Look I know a coconut is a seed so if I planted one would I get a palm tree?

Try it and see. All that has been removed is the outer husk of the coconut. The roots and shoot will come out of the 3 holes on the end of the nut. Plant the nut on its' side with 2 of the 3 holes underground. Keep it warm (85 degrees Fahrenheit) and moist. Germination varies depending on maturity of the embryo in an individual seed. So it could take 2 or 3 months to germinate, but could germinate quicker.
