i'm going to buy an xbox 360 but i don't have an HD TV so does it come with a scart lead or a lead for a HD TV

i mean like will the cables fit into a non HD TV

The lead you get for it is changeable between the two. You get 6 adaptors on it, the red white and yellow you'll be using and then red green and blue which you plug in for an HDTV. Also there's a switch to choose between HDTV and TV and it won't work if it's on the wrong setting.

Dom is right. My 360 works just fine with my non-HDTV. Some games (Ghost Recon Advanced Warfighter for example) it makes the text a bit hard to read, but everything else still looks good and plays great with just the cables in the box.
