I do, I say Hello red legs to the orbweavers in my garden, I love watching them spin their webs in the evening and even as they are spinning they have to stop to catch the bugs that fly into them. But I dont say hello to the insects that they are harvesting....

Mostly, in one way or another, however if it's grasshopper I'll greet it with a scream, and if it's a mozzie, I'll greet it with a slap. Otherwise I'm quite fond of the little critters. I keep relocating big golden orb spiders in my garden because their webs are in places that are dangerous to me and to them, but I never hurt them. They eat the Mozzies!.

My best friend adores spiders and she names them all Emily!

A lot of insects are extraordinarily beautiful too.

As vitally important as they are in the food chain I have never greeted an insect. Point well taken however I probably never will.

:) guilty

although generally not with as much affection as with a cat or dog

often the greeting comes with a warning

Yes. They are essential to nature so I respect them much as animals unless they are dangerous and pose a hazard. Other than that, it's "Hi, Spider, you're so cute." Or "Hi Lady Bug, how's your day, thanks for the good luck." Or "Hey cricket stop being so loud outside my window I can't sleep, thanks for the good luck".=^+^=

:) Definitely. I love insects and dont understand how people kill them on purpose. They're fun to watch!! Specially ants.

Mosquitos, flies and cockies however are dangerous to our health so i dont see them bad to kill.
