It depends whether they do an external (on your tummy) scan or an internal one. I had an internal scan at 7.5 weeks & it was amazing! I was expecting to see a litttle bean shape but it was a real baby (sounds silly I know!) with tiny arms & legs, not in proportion but still recognisable. Baby even did a little wiggle for us! We could definitely see the heart beating away. Obviously we could see all this on a large screen, but this little miracle was only 14mm real size! Everyone who sees the picture is amazed at how clear it is. So, unpleasant as it is, internal scans are best that early. The 12 week (external) scan I had was quite boring. We could only make out a head & a body, the nurse had to point out arms, legs & heart beat, & this time baby was just lying there chilling out! Really looking forward to my 20 week scan now, wondering what baby will be doing in there by then!! Good luck!

Hi, I had to have a scan at 6 weeks because I was ill. Unfortunately there is not much to see, you will see the sack and a very small bean shape - thats baby. Just wait until your 12 week scan - that is amazing xx

You'll get to see the little blob inside you that is the baby, but doesn't really look like one! I still can't make any sense of my 6 week pictures! The cool thing is that you can actually see the heart beating!

I go for my 20 week sono today! Good luck and congratulations!

A tiny baby that looks like a bean. I remember having a scan at 6 wks, although you couldnt see much, I was overwhelmed by this bean shape and cried my eyes out. Seems ages ago now.

Well you wont see much because at that stage the baby is very small and not really formed. But you will hear the heartbeat and for me that was enough. Each time I go i feel differently because I learn something new even tho i have a two yr old already. Enjoy!!

The age of the child isn't once you had intercourse, it incredibly is calculated from while the egg starts it incredibly is cycle (that's why while some women human beings miss their era the child isn't 4 weeks previous yet 6 weeks) although, it would probable be too quickly for them to locate you being pregnant by utilising under 2 weeks

Hey, at 12 weeks my baby was about 3 inches and you could see its heart beating and it looked like a proper human, however at 6 weeks your baby isnt fully developed yet but you should be able to see its heart-beat. Good luck and enjoy it.

Yep, a tiny, tiny baby most likely doing somersaults and moving all around and a little heartbeat. I remember seeing my baby around that gestational age and watching her do all this movement and was astonished that I couldn't feel any of it. Enjoy it to the fullest...it's beautuful!
