Try restarting your computer. If you don't restart every so often, the cache memory in your computer, which holds temporary files, can run out of space. You can also go into your system tools under accessories in the start menu and use the disk cleanup to get rid of unnecessary and temporary files, or defragment your drive to rearrange files so the computer maximizes available space.

You probably need to delete some old temp files. Open up Windows Explorer, and right-click on your hard drive (usually C:\), then click on "Properties". Under the General tab, there will be a button that says "Disk Cleanup". You can safely check each of the boxes of things you want to delete.

You can also uninstall any unneeded programs, by clicking on the Start Menu -> Settings -> Control Panel -> Add or Remove programs.

Hopefully that'll clear up enough space on the hard drive. However, you'll probably want to go through your entire hard drive at some point and just do some housekeeping.

Probably too much used space on your computer hard disk which is a result of program downloads(such as MSN, Ares, Yahoo Messenger, etc..) To resolve this problem remove some programs which you rarely use and can do without or perform a Disk Clean-Up because there could be some uninstalled programs which did not unistall completely and are occupying space.

You can also buy an external hard disk and move some files onto it which will creatle more space on the internal hard disk.

Open Windows Explorer and right-click the c drive. Select properties. There should be a disk cleanup button for you to press and this program will go through the hard drive and mark files that can be deleted, to make more room.

If this doesn't give you space, you may have to delete your own files (photos, mp3s, documents,...etc).

hopefully you don't have a "hole" in one of your programs that is just sucking up memory. Let's say you don't and move on to a more common problem. If you computer is running OK otherwise then go to your control panel > system > system restore > put a check mark in the little box to turn off system restore > OK > then shut down and boot up. This will give you up to 8 gigs of storage back (in this case memory). Now there may be no system restore because you need 2 gigs space in order for restore to work and if this is the case then you need to make that space. Go to search and enter restore, back up. Search and delete the largest file. This will start up your system restore and you can shut it off as I said. After you boot up turn the system restore back on. Some utilities have restore point cleaners chech yours. This will be a bit of a shock to your puter but so long as it runs OK now it will be fine.

The problem lies in the storage space (hard drive) of your system.

You'll need to remove some songs or other large files from your hard drive and once you have 20% free run a Defragmentation to improve your system speed.

If you don't want to lose the files you remove, you'll have to hook up an external drive or burn some data DVDs or CDs.

your computer takes a bit of the actual memory (RAM) inside your pc and allocates it for routine tasks. this is virtual memory. I'm getting the same message when I play Sims or mmorg games. You can increase the amount of memory that is allocated as virtual memory, only I don't know how to do that so i'll not be a lot of help there.... This really is only a short term solution though. You need to buy a (couple of) new stick(s) of memory. :( so do I.

Hey you have got too many programmes running on your computer. I f you go to control pannel and go to add/remove you will see plenty of programmes like games on active mode. if you delete unwanting games not run in recent past, this message will not come. Because your active memory of computer is being utilized by these programes unnecessarily.

It means you have managed to fill up your hard disk pretty well.

Either buy a new hard drive and move some stuff onto it or delete some stuff you don't need.
