I'm going Snowboarding for the first time and would like to buy some decent but reletively cheap gear (Board Boots and Binders) any suggestions.

Do you have a Sports Authority store near you? They have really good pre-season deals - but you are quickly getting to the end of the pre-season - hurry!

You could also do a season rental for this season and figure out what you like and what you don't - then buy what you really want next Aug / Sept when the prices are really sweet.

Good Luck

It's always a good idea to rent boards while learning, just to get the feel of different brands, and styles. Plus you can always buy used off of the web like www.craigslist.com. I found me a GNU Carbon High Beam with Burton Custom bindings for $200. As for gear, I'm not sure where you're from, but if you are from NorCal then Sierra Snowboard in Sacramento has some of the best deals around. I just bought all new gear (Special Blend) for under $200.

Hey buddy, don't go to any crap sites, sport gear of the web is a joke. What you need to do is go hit up you local on mountain pro shop and buy demo board, prices are killer and they have barley been touched and they are always name brand top of the land. Another good place is go to the ski/ snowboard expos in your area and search for last years models and blow outs those prices are almost free sometimes. I picked up an $800 GNU board for $400, Titanium Ride bindings that run $300 for $200 and a pair of DC judge boots about $400 for $250
