Ok, I know the obvious answer is they can just thrw these away and not have to worry about washing them. This doc I saw had to what must have been sized to an xtra small size paper gown. It didn't even close at all.
Do you think if I brought my own gown and sheet in, that there would be a problem? I would feel a LOT less embarrased

I worked for a gyn for years, and she insisted on fabric gowns in all sizes. It was not only less expensive, but the Pt's really liked being treated so special. I don't think there would be a problem with bringing your own gown. As long as it opens in the front for your breast exam, and one that can drape over your legs for your internal exam. Suggest to the doctor that fabric gowns, or even better fitting paper gowns would be a big plus !

I know what you mean. The drape and gown barely cover anything and it's so thin you can see through it anyway. I would bring my own and ask when you get there. They may not mind and if they don't like it at least you tried. I thought about that a few weeks ago and decided the next time I go I will bring my own small blanket as a drape.

The last time I went to the gyno the paper gown was so thin that the whole thing broke apart.
Try to bring your own gown in--explain that you feel very uncomfortable in those paper gowns. I really don't think the doc will have any problems especially if they don't have to foot the bill to clean these.

I personally think that paper is wasteful---they throw them in the garbage and don't recycle

Paper gowns/drape are much cheaper than having cloth gown/drape where you would need to wash them, etc.

You could ask the doctor about it, they might say ok especially if you are more comfortable with it.

You should call and ask your Md if it's possible. Some may have a problem with it while other's may not. My pcp has the paper gowns and sheets but my gyno has the cloth ones...
