Is this the book by betty mamoudhi ? her daughters name was mataub right ? I saw the movie with Sally field and thought it was an excellent movie and I think I read the book it was very good as well . that must have been shear agony living like that . Makes a good case for ppl especially americans not wanting to go over there . good luck and god bless.

Yes, I read it "Not Without My Daughter" and it was excellent, and scary as well. It made me really grateful to be living in the US where we enjoy so many freedoms that women in the Middle East don't have.

It's called 'Not without my Daughter' and it's excellent. A real indictment of how women are treated in this particular culture. A brave woman.

Yeah, I remember that it's called "Not Without My Daughter." I haven't read it. Sounds good though :)
