Usually people want to cut tenons on dimensioned lumbar. Log furniture requires something different. Try this website... it will at least get you started.

Morning William. Above is a general link varying from tools, to applications.
For logs it may be that a two stage process will have to be done; since the suggested tools may do radius cuts; while you may want square or rectangular.
