Yeah....that would probably kill a person, if you ingest enough and don't get medical treatment...but I'm sure there are more humane ways a person can kill themselves....Makes me wonder if he is just saying that for sympathy or for attention...Most people that are really serious about suicide, you don't know until it's too late....Normally there are signs, but they don't usually come out and tell you how they are planning to do it....I'm feeling like this is a BS question, because if you were serious, you would have called some kind of poison control center and no YA.

If your husband is trying to commit suicide, he needs some serious help from professionals! Take his threats seriously and get him help! If he's telling you he's going to as weaponry in an argument (for example), then he's very wrong to do so, but it does point out that he's in a serious mental struggle at the moment. You must be in tourmoil right now! I'm pretty sure your husband could seriously harm himself with cockroach spray; type the name of the product into Google and find out what it does to cockroaches!!!!!!!
But your husband could also be causing you harm though, if it's his intention to 'make you a fool' by calling your bluff with this. You know this situation better than anyone, but I do have a feeling there's more to this than just cockroach spray! Am I wrong? Find some help and support for your husband if he's truly suicidal and if he's not and you know he's not, do find some support for yourself also. Hope it all works out with no casualties at the end! Suicide threats must be taken seriously though - seek further advice straight away and get the support you both need.

The point isn't really whether he can die or not. I suppose he could. The point is why is he saying these things. If people threaten suicide, you should take it seriously. Even if they are just looking for attention, they can escalate their behavior to a "fake" suicide attempt where they may actually kill themselves on accident. There is no way to know how many suicides are people who never actually intended to die. Once they are dead, you can't ask them. My advice is to admit him to a psychiatric ward until he stops this behavior. If he's being serious, you will be saving his life. If he's not, this will teach him a valuable lesson. It is a vicious, cruel, horrible thing to exploit someone's emotions by threatening suicide just because you are angry or to hurt them. Someone who does that probably doesn't love you very much if he could use your emotions and your love for him against you that way. That is a terrible, terrible thing to do.

ANY Suicide Threat is a cry for help and a sign of serious desperation. No event in life is worth killing himself for. Please contact a helpline/counselling service immediately and get him some much needed help.
On the other hand, if he just uses the threat to keep you from leaving him, that is as low and unfair as he can go. My husband has done that to me before. He knew because I am a good person, I would not be able to have his death on my conscience. Therefore I would not dare to leave him. A psychological abuse of sort. Either way, it seems counselling is in order. Good luck to you.

chances are, it could kill him...
Of all the possible choices, why'd he pick a CockRoach spray?
I sense something almost symbolic here.
As with most spray cans, he'd get pretty high before he kicked, which may be the hook.
I hope the best for you.

I am not sure if he can die from the roach spray, but if he has threaten to commit suicide you need to get him help ASAP. Look in the phone book and call your local mental health agency and speak with someone there. Please take any suicide threat seriously.

I would have to say yes he could. The contents are mostly likely quite toxic. However I think the method of suicide isn't really the issue here. You need to get your husband some help. Good Luck to you both.---------What the hell did I say to get a thumbs-down here? Some people are really weird....

yep, it can kill him. what's worse though, is the fact that it may not kill him but, leave him with too few brain cells. that is a fact. when i was younger, i had a friend who did this. he was never the same. i suggest you get your husband some serious help.

More than likely it will just give him a stroke and make him a drooling vegetable... Not a good way to go and as likely to just injure him permanently
