Can't see it happening until the offseason. If MLSE fires them both now, they have to pay the remaining salary on the contracts (or if it exists the buy out clause total) AND then they have to pay their replacements. This would put a dent in the end of year profits. Something that seems to matter more than the on-ice product at the ACC right now.

Must be new around here. People have been calling for their heads for months. Since I am not a Leafs fan I want them to stay forever. Seeing you are a Leafs fan I can see your frustration. I don't know however if Scotty Bowman would want the burden of being a GM. He is kind of old and what else does he have to prove? Having the worst record doesn't guarantee the first overall pick, but yeah they should just lose out.

I guess I'd be harder on JFJ and MO if I thought that they had always had free reign without being overshadowed and overruled from above by non-hockey guys (Larry and Richard.) Then I could say that they alone were responsible for everything. No one works well under those circumstances (I'm sure including everyone here). I guess we'll never know as they likely will be let go. I've heard that Glen Healy is a possible replacement. After listening to him during the last game, I'd say that's not such a good idea. You can't rip players publicly then GM them and think that even the others in the room will respond positively to you. I like Glen-he's good as a commentator on TV with his sense of humour, but...

KIDM: Beat me to it. No reason to wait for the off season. The Leafs need an overhaul, and before Christmas. Jfj, needs to go and the rest also need to be flushed. Yes, it would be nice to get some good offensive players in there, but I think that is least of the Leafs problems for now. The Leafs have talent that is not being utilized by good coaching.

Off season? They need to do it now. Regardless of when they get rid of them it will be a painful period of rebuilding for the Leafs, so the sooner it gets done the sooner it will allow the Leafs to do what they have to to get a professional management team in place and start to build a team RIGHT,not this half as$ed piecemeal thing they have going now, with a bunch of overpaid mediocre talent and a captain that is a fossil and weighing the rest of the cap and the team down.

I quote
"Like come on hes oviously a crappy GM who only cares about money and nothing about the quailty of his hockey franchise"
If there is a GM out there who does not care about money first...he's the one that is out of a job.
The NHL is a business first.

i think leafs should go with young players, new management, cause until they do so the leafs will never will a stanley cup ever again, unless they're willing to rebuild they have no shot watsoever every year, john ferguson jr is the worst gm i've ever seen, he amazes me, cuz he's actually still sitting in his chair each day.

Actually, if you've been reading and listening to the analysis on tv and newspapers (even LITY's), the media is calling for Peddie's head. They're also calling for Tannenbaum's and the OTP. If they fire Ferguson (which they should) and Maurice (eh...maybe), they've only eliminated a finger or a toe. The problem still remains.

honestly FEMA. yet I guess the TML might want to study plenty from FEMA: "The governor of the state in which the disaster got here about ought to declare a state of emergency and formally request from the President that FEMA and the federal authorities respond to the disaster." i imagine this is especially obtrusive that the Leafs were in a state of emergency for a even as now, so JFJ may be able to bypass "Step a million" and may assume a decision from the finest Minister any time now.
