I watched a show on the discovery channel about REM sleep. Which scientists have proven to be the cause of 95% of so called abductions within the united states, the rest were marked down as blatent lies or remarkably similar to the movie "Fire in the Sky". Have you been abducted and how do you know for sure?

You know that the Discovery Channel is now controlled by the same kind of people who give us FOX and the other "tabloid" TV channels.

Their main purpose is to shock (and, thereby, increase viewership in order to increase revenue).

Although there are still some (rare) decent shows where you can actually learn something, the amount of garbage is increasing very fast.

And the same sort of people just acquired National Geographic TV (the magazine itself is still safe... for now). This is bad because they use the past reputation of these channels to feed us their junk.

REM sleep has nothing to do with abductions or aliens. It ahs to do with the fact that at some stage in sleep (called paradoxical sleep), part of your brain is still active and processing information as if you were awake. This is why most dreams occur while in REM sleep.

As a bonus, the part of the brain that does the "reality check" is more silent at that time, so that dreams can be a lot more weird than real life. So, it is very possible during REM sleep to dream about aliens and abductions, and have the brain take it as "possible" (since the reality check is turned off).

I know this will be difficult to accept but this is the truth:

NO ONE HAS EVER BEEN ABDUCTED BY SPACE ALIENS.

The stars are too far apart. There are NO aliens zooming around in spaceships abducting people. They are not making geometric shapes in corn fields. They are not mutilating cattle. There are NO alien visitors. NONE. ZERO. The HIstory Channel is not a reliable source of information. I sympathize with you: aliens would make the world a more interesting place. I know losing Santa and the elves and the Easter Bunny was traumatic. But you don't have to replace them with creatures even sillier.

These nerds are less creditable than the old National Enquirer.

UFO conspiracy
Global warming is not real.
What's next? An expose' of Santa Claus's sex life?

I think they are just broadcasting the dreams of 'dubya' Bush

i haven't been abducted and neither has anyone else. did u know the estimated speed of UFO by "UFO experts" is 5000 mph? at that speed it would take tens of trillions of years to reach us from the nearest star. hundreds of trillions to reach us from 40 lightyears away, which is how far they would need to be cuz we've been monitoring radio signals from space for 40 years and have found nothing. and the universe has existed for 13.7 billion years, just a few shy of a hundred trillion...

I did have this creepy dream, it seemed like for real, but again, it was just a dream: Okay so "in my dream", i was in my room sleeping, i woke up, and there was some creepy shadow thing standing next to me i tried to scream for my mom, but nothing came out, i tried to get up and run away, but i couldn't move. It was a very creepy dream though!

Why do people who claim to have been abducted by aliens never bring any evidence back with them? Are they thinking, "no need, I'm bound to be believed on this one".
