I think that's a fair assessment. Members of Congress have lavished outrageous salaries, perks and pensions on themselves, which is nothing more than a slap in the face to most Americans. Their greed, selfishness, arrogance and hubris is shameful, especially when you consider they're supposed to be 'public servants'.
Even more astonishing is the way they squander taxpayers' money as if it were their own. They're supposed to be stewards of our nation's treasury, yet they spend like drunken sailors - again - which is nothing more than a slap in the face to most Americans.
Congress is full of pedophiles, homosexuals, alcoholics, cross dressers, wife beaters, petty criminals, drug abusers, adulterers, and maybe even a murderer or two. Yet they use their power and influence to insulate themselves from their constituents, prostitute themselves for the benefit of corporations and wealthy elitists, and abuse their positions as so-called 'honorable' people, elevating themselves to that of privileged royalty instead of public servant. To a man (and a woman) they should all be thrown out of office, and impeached for high crimes against this nation's people. -RKO- 12/05/07

Yes for the already stated reasons and most of them are millionaires when they enter office so they don't even need our money.

Absolutely. They have an incredible amount of perks and when they retire, or get voted out of office, they are set for life.
