I think it's the way they believe in people being good as a whole. Even though it's not necessarily true, it's a very nice and positive thought.

We love to constantly bicker, squabble, and insult each other. They call us socialists and we call them fascists, and those are some of the nicer names that we throw at each other.

But the truth of the matter is that when you boil everything down, I am absolutely completely certain that they love America every bit as much as we do. They respect the Constitution just like us. And, if push came to shove, they would fight just as hard as we would to preserve and defend it as they see fit and understand it.

I actually have a fair amount of respect for the other side. While I think they are wrong about virtually everything, I know that they are not wrong in their desire to keep this country great.

Unfortunate that so many people actually believe that we have true democracy in this country and that capitalism = democracy.

But I can appreciate this on some level, because those of us who recognize and accept the truth have yet another reason to be thankful for our intelligence.

I like the fact that Dems support the environment, and clean alternative energy policies, getting us off of oil dependency. They've got that issue right.

Do I get "best answer" for being the only one to seriously answer your question under the conditions you set forth? lol

Oh wait - sorry - Jade did too...

What kind of question is that? Are you trying to start a fight?

I am an Independent and I have watched as both party's have become one, still pretending to be different.

I was a Republican forever - my opinion of them has sunk so low in the last eight years that I really can't say there is anything I respect or admire about them anymore.

The sad thing is I'm not even being sarcastic.

If its any consolation though, I think the Democrats are a bunch of spineless, losers who don't know how to act as if they won a major victory in 06.

I think it's touching, even quaint, that some Republicans actually believe that there is "real capitalism" operating in this country.

It's almost like they still believe in Santa Claus.
