The Worlds tallest lighted Christmas tree was 150 feet tall and was in Blue River Oregon USA
The first Christmas card was created in 1843 by John Calcott Horsely for Sir Henry Cole, the friend who had given him the idea. Sir Henry Cole was the first person to send a card.
Postmen in Victorian England were popularly called "robins". This was because their uniforms were red. Victorian Xmas cards often showed a robin delivering Xmas mail.
In the nineteenth century, the British Post Office used to deliver cards on Christmas morning.

1. Where did Santa Claus originate?
There was a man named St. Nicholas in Turkey who is the basis for Santa Claus (Dutch for St. Nicholas). He was a wealthy man who saw the poverty in his town, and tried to help the poor by giving gifts, especially to the children of the town.
2. Was December 25 the actual birth date of Jesus Christ?
There is only one reference in the Bible as to the date of his birth--the shepherds were grazing their flocks by night. They only do this in the hotter times of the year, when it's too hot to do it during the day. He was probably born in April or May, but early Christians cared more about his resurrection than the date of his birth. It wasn't until Rome adopted Christianity that they wanted a birthdate for him. There was already a Roman holiday in late December, and one celebrated the Sun God, so it was just a hop, skip and jump to make it the birth of the Son OF God.
3. At the winter solstice, Germans would decorate evergreen trees with apples. This is where our Christmas trees come from. They did not become popular in England and the U.S. until the mid 1800's, when Queen Victoria married Germany's Prince Albert, and they adopted the custom. Once Queen Victoria did anything, it became fashionable.
