There are several solutions for airport transfer:
- you can use public transportation but there is no direct line so you will have to switch: take a train (get off at Nyugati Railway station), then a tram (number 4 or 6 and get off at the last stop, Moszkva Square), then another tram or a bus (number 56 and get off when you see the hotel) - it will only cost you around 5 Euro, but I wouldn' reccommend it, as it's not fun carrying your luggage around from one place to the other in the crowd;
- you can take the airport minibus, which is about 10 Euro; it's the cheapest way, perfect if you're not in a hurry (it takes a busload of people to their destinations one by one, and you'll have to wait for your turn - as the hotel is on the Buda side, it might take a while);
- you can take a cab, but make sure it's called Zona Taxi (some companies tend to charge tourists more than the usual fare), they have fix prices and you can get a voucher at the airport for about 16 Euro - sometimes there is a long queue, but if that's okay with you, this is by far the best option;
- you can order a transfer car online (there are many websites, this is one of the cheapest: http://www.budapesthotelstart.com/airport-transfer.en.php) - for 23 Euro a driver waits for you with a sign when the plane lands and takes you to the hotel with your own private car.
Also: it's not true that Hungarians don't speak English, the younger generation does, so if you get lost, don't be afraid to ask for directions. Oh and: they DO NOT use the cyrillic alphabet in Hungary! :)

Hey,
I've never been in this hotel but I think I can give you some tips:
Firstly, I think the best for you is to take a taxi, it costs a lot less than in the rest of Europ. When I've been in BUdapest, i was positively surprised by the cost of life. For example i'am student and I had 450 euros (=500 usd) for a week, it was the salary of a simple employee for a month... So, the best for you is to hire a taxi because the alphabet is a lot different from our, I think you couldn't reperate yourself simply because you couldn't read anything if you take a bus or a tram except if you know the cyrillic alphabet...
Try the thermal area in the Gellert Hotel, really nice you can have massages and relaxing baths
Enjoy your trip

E-mail the hotel and ask them to send a car to pick you up, and arrange a good price for this. It's much easier, because I found when I was in Budapest nearly 2 years ago that not many people speak English ....
Or go to the hotel website and look for directions to get there. Or e-mail the hotel and ask them which is the nearest metro station and how to get there from the airport.

my cousin had her wedding ceremony there:)
quite cool i think, in the heart of the buda part, nice location.
public transport from the airport s****:) but i think they have recently a train line also.
maybe you should take the airport minibus, that's like 16 euro i think, it takes many people, but sometimes just you, so it is maybe the smartest option.
be careful with taxi drivers..they might want to cheat on you!
and have fun in BP
