I don't watch debates either. With the majority of the candidates we have their voting records, their mouthing of platitudes will not change that.
Here's how it goes for me , if they voted for this war, they will NOT be agreeable to me, under any circumstances.
Workers and others of conscience resent sending their children to fight and die in illegal wars for the profit of the wealthy owning class. Try making ends meet seven days per week, working at two or three jobs, in harsh working conditions while loved ones are sent to war, leaving those behind struggling to pay the bills without healthcare and maybe you, too, would grumble.
A livable wage, universal health insurance, quality education, taking care of veterans and no more wars of choice nor for profit are just a few of the not so small but very important worker rights, that would help build confidence and trust in the Democratic Party that professes to be of, for and by the working class.
That's why you will find Progressives and union activists fighting for livable wage contracts and universal health care. That's why articles of impeachment having been drawn up against George W. Bush for his crimes against humanity await a courageous introduction in the House of Representatives.
The Democratic Party contains many tepid progressives, made of "spineless fiber"...an amazing amalgam of co-opted politicians who long ago abandoned their base. Democrats are soft and pliant, Bush-lite, desirous of appeasing their fascist neo-con brethren. They continue supporting yet another illegal war, so strong in that support that their ethics and morality crumbles. . .even as they profess the moral high ground.
And they spend more on war, again -- because standing for their twisted "patriotic" principles makes their hands bloody -- instead of ending the war and washing them clean.

I'm with dstr. Watching them move their mouths doesn't serve much purpose beyond the entertainment value. At best, it's a televized record of what they will eat later... evidence to be used against them once they break their promises and go back on those very words. Remember bush's disgust with interventionism and nation building?
We must look to see how they've always voted and what they've supportd and we have to look at how consistant they've been before they decided to run for the presidency. That's the true mark of an honest candidate with professional integrity. Not too many of those running this election, when we need them the most.

I have great interest in the Primaries and Elections. I do not have much interest in these so called "debates". Let the candidates actually debate each other like they did years ago and then I will be interested in them as well.

No... we know the positions of the candidates from the internet, etc.
Why should I watch something that won't tell me anything new?
By the way, I could tell you all of Hillary's answers before hearing her open her mouth in the Democrat debates. So why should I watch them. I already know her.
.
.
Also those debates are sickeningly rigged. You have Libs asking questions that are so amazingly biased towards Dems and Hillary.
.
Dstr, it's sort of funny how you say families don't want their kids fighting in Iraq. Every military family that I talk to is PROUD to have a kid who is fighting to make this a better world.

A year long campaign gets very tiring. With the drive through mentality of most Americans it has lost it's interest long ago.
The media will make their selections and then spoon feed them to the majority of Americans that hate to think and abdicated their responsibility to participate in government long ago.
I read it here all the time,,, People referring to government as if it were an entity apart when we the people are the government.

It's an indictment of the entire country that only 1% are interested enough in the future of their country to turn it on and watch. That doesn't seem like to great a burden for democracy.

You cannot judge the voting public by those that watch a television show.
