climb up to the windowsills, and look inside the houses? And that it can be very unnerving, because they are playing peekaboo everywhere, even at the bathroom windows, and who knows what they would see?

Yep, sure is...

I grew up in North Florida and we would have snakes in the window sill, in front of doors, even had one in the pool...

I wouldn't worry about what they see, it isn't like they are selling it to the National Enquirer. I would be more worried about running into a poisonous one.

There are many snakes in Florida however I have never heard of them peering into the house. I've lived in south Fl. and vacationed [ 3 mos at a time ] for many years in central east coast Fl.

I think you have seen 1 too many movies.
Sure there are snakes in Florida and no doubt they climb walls or even up windows but no they are not "looking or spying" on you.

I live in south Florida. I don't see snakes very often unless construction is going on and shaking the ground. My neighbor, whose house is surrounded by brick pavers complains all the time about black snakes sunning on the warm bricks. I guess they are all over at her house.
