U have to see if u can handle it. This is my advice, i'm 10th grade now and next year i will be in 11th grade!! OMG. And i flunked and failed in chemistry!! well anyway, From my experience, try to do some reference on some chemistry books and try the questions and see if u can handle it. If its easy for you, just try it! (Here i am now, giving u advice but not even myself could take up my OWN advice. Lol) Well, just try my advice, if u cant, just dont take it. It is better to try my advice, trust me, if i can go back to time, i will do the exact same thing. Good luck!!

Edit: Person above me, thats not true. Some schools have it set up Earth Science 9th grade, Biology 10th Grade, and then chemistry in 11th, so you are wrong. Do it. My freshman year, I took an intro course into Earth Sci/Biology and regret it, I should have just taken Earth Sci in 9th, Bio in 10th and then whatever was for 11th. Instead, I ended up last year in 11th taking biology and failed(I was out half the year with mono) but now I am taking bio again and this is as far as Im getting with my science classes and I regret it because I want to go into marine biology.

Chemistry is seen to be as one of the harder subjects. It all comes down to whether you think you are capable of completing the chemistry unit or not. If you don't think you can, then I believe you can drop out and restart it in Yr 11. Whether or not you do Chemistry in Yr 10. If you do it in Yr 11, you will be doing both it and Biology.
Personally, I recommend that you do Chemistry at a later year when you have more experience with time management and workload as Chemistry is a subject that you need to ace in if you are looking towards a medical career.
Also if you decide to do Chemistry in Yr 10 or 11. whatever it may be, there is no advantage to being ahead. Doing it a younger age is not advantageous as it is a new and harder subject that all your others and doing it later gives you more experience from previous years about study etc.

10th grade should be biology and 11th grade chemistry. HOWEVER, IF your school also has more advanced science classes like physics and physiology, cell-biology, and you want to major in science, math or medicine, then take both biology and chemistry. Then take the other advanced sciences in the 11th and 12th grades. Make sure you have science in the 12th grade. It looks good on the transcripts.

I took chem my 9th grade year and bio my 8th grade year. Just dont fall behind and you will be alright. Plus you will have all the hard classes knocked out, like me I had my 10, 11, 12 grade year mess around, in your case you will have 11 and 12 to mess around.

i took both chemistry and biology my sophmore year and it wasnt bad at all (of course Im sure the curriculum is different). if you are good at sciences and math then go for it. if you get ahead then you can have a easier senior year.

Do what is RIGHT for you! Don't make the mistake of turning it into a competition between you and your sister! Make sure you that is what YOU want. You may do better but be sure that is the path you want to take! Be you and follow YOUR own path! Good Luck.
