I'd say you were lying to try and get out of it. Admit it, you were caught red handed!

He can't because that would be classed as Entrapment. You also have a right to have legal representation waiting for you at the Police Station when you get there. Also get the shoulder Number of the Officer and report him to his Superior Officer. If that ever happens.
