Which one would you consider to be more accurate, if you had to choose, BBT or Cervical Mucus. This is if your BBT doesn't correspond with your Cervical Mucus. For instance BBT drops on day of ovulation, but Cervical Mucus does not coincide with temp drop. Explanation?

If you are following the rules of temping, then your temperature is more accurate. Your temperature only rises and stays elevated after you ovulate. 24 hours after you ovulate your body starts releasing progesterone. Progesterone is what causes the temperature increase.

Cervical mucus is a clue, a sign but not proof of what is going on in your body. Some women may experience a lot of cervical mucus because their body is trying to ovulate but isn't. Other women don't have a lot of cervical mucus. The quality and the quantity of cervical mucus can vary in every cycle.

I'd say both are as important.
Your mucus can become watery or egg white due to other things than ovulation. Some times a minor infection can make ur mucus change texture, so its not 100% reliable. Some woman, including me sometimes, get egg white like mucus way after ovulation. BBt is more reliable but after ovulation, as it shows u a noticeable rise in temprature. But then its too late to TTC. I think u should go with both, as the watery mucus starts a few days BEFORE ovulation and when ur temprature drops it is actually the time u ovulated, then the temp. rises after ovulation. Once u c the mucus watery or egg white u should BD atleast every other day until u c the rise in temp.

Good luck.

If your are temping correctly, BBT should prevail. Cervical mucous is not as reliable because some women either don't have it, have very little, or have patchy mucous throughout their cycle. Sometimes you can ovulate on a day when you have no fertile signs at all. However, when ovulation takes place, progesterone is released and your temp rises. It's infallible.

As long as you temp correctly, your temps should always be your most reliable source.

Good luck.

BBT trumps CM. BBT is considered a primary fertility sign whereas CM is only considered a secondary fertility sign.
Also, a temp drop is NOT a sign of ovulation. It happens for some women but not most and not every cycle. Only 3 consecutive high temps indicate ovulation happened.

Both are very important, but I would say that the mucous is more important because that is what carries the sperm to the egg for fertilization. That's what my husband and I went by and I am now 25 weeks pregnant. We never used BBT. Good luck and I hope that you see the results that you want to see.
