I had the same problem and the fact that it has been about an year ago and you still can't get over this freaks me out. Anyways, what I have realized is that everything is in your mind and you better realize that you are complete person - you was a complete person before you met him and you have to be a complete person during a relationship and after it. This is where I am trying to point my thoughts at. I know it sounds theoretically easy and difficult to accomplish in reality. First you have to get over your ex, stop thinking only about him, then you will have good and restful sleep. Try to go out with friends as much as possible. And the suggestion of sleeping with strangers is not good, trust me, in the beginning it might feel better, but afterwards it can take you way down.

Yeah I know, it's 3:15 here and I have to get ready for work in 4 hours. I have had this problem since my girlfriend broke up with me. I know the feeling. Sleeping pills or bourbon are the only help!!!

I have this same problem. On the weekends, my boyfriend sleeps over with me, and during the weekdays, I dread going to bed at night. It's getting worse too. I'll lie there and just think of all the awful things that could happen at night. And I have this really stupid, childish fear of people under my bed.

I wish I knew what to tell you to do. Maybe sleep with a pet, if they'll let you. I don't know if that would help, but it's worth a try. This sounds really crazy, but I sleep with a not-bright nightlight, and it helps a little bit.

I don't know if this'll help any, but here's a google page full of tricks to help you sleep better. Hope this helps - good luck.

Oh, sometimes I do word-search puzzles and they sometimes help.

If you're still thinking about him, you have a lot more to deal with than sleeping problems. I think if you start getting over him, you will be able to sleep better and alone.

Oh, I remember that lonely-empty-bed feeling, all too well. It hurts. I feel your pain. Sadly, I took drugs to help me sleep, to numb all pain. BIG MISTAKE! Truthfully, there is NOTHING you can do - there are only band-aid cures. Your only enemy is time, and as time passes, it will get easier. Go with your emotions - cry when you are sad, laugh when you are happy. That's all there is. Be strong - you'll be ok. Good luck.

Try getting a pet. A dog or can is fun to snuggle up with, who needs a guy anyways.
