Sun: Cancer
Moon: Leo
Ascendant: Libra

The sun rules Leo, right? But my sun is in Cancer.
And the moon rules Cancer, but my moon is in Leo.

What exactly does this mean?

And why are sun/moon more special for everyone than the other planets?

"preferably, fire sign should be in the sun and water sign should be in the moon." Why?

Also, I'm right on the cusp of Cancer / Leo... (isn't there a cusp debate?). How does that figure into all this?

If you were to think of your Sun sign as your soul -- your inner personality and potential -- and your Moon sign as your heart -- your emotional core -- then you could say that your Rising or Ascendant sign is your physical self or the face you present to the world.

The sun (to integrate) in Cancer (Instinctive and Protective)

You may be good at influencing people at the emotional level. You are a good organiser, particularly of the home (Cancer). You tend to respond according to your feelings rather than from emotional logic (instinctive, water). You are likely to be influenced by emotional appeals (water). You are good at thinking up new projects (cardinal) and at starting them, and your motive may be based on others, particularly the family (family) benefit rather than your own (passive). You withdraw from some situations, especially if they appear to involve conflict (crab).

The Moon (to react to) in Leo (Impressive and Creative)

You need to make a grand impression in order to feel good emotionally. You may be very proud of your early upbringing (Moon). You also might use your emotional power to forcefully (fire) influence others (drama queen). (impressive and creative) You generally have a constant emotional disposition and enduring emotional viewpoints (fixed). You are creative and, once started, you persist with your ideas.

Rising or Ascendant Sign is Libra (Diplomatic and Harmonious)

It's hard for anyone to say 'no' to you. You seem so charming and persuasive, people can't help but accommodate you! You likely look smashing even if you're just running to the market for milk. You may seem outwardly indecisive, but you're so irresistible that you'll find those around you more than happy to make up your mind for you. Keep vanity and sulkiness -- two less attractive Libran qualities -- in check. Luckily, Libras avoid conflict at all costs -- expect tons of harmony, fun and lots of carefree communication!

There's no "right" place for a sun or moon no be. A fire sign sun sign isn't "supposed" to be in a sun fire sign. A moon sign isn't "supposed" to be with a moon sign. That's pure BS.

All it means is, at the moment you were born the physical sun and moon were in specific places in the sky, within the zodiac hierarchy. That's it. How it's interpreted by astrologers is what you're interested in.

it doesnt mean anything.
but preferably, fire sign should be in the sun and water sign should be in the moon.

sun is our inner core, who you are and who you think you are deep inside.

moon is our emotional core, our subconcious, our needs.

the ascendant is how we act, who we want to be, our dreams and aspirations.

neglect either one of these, and youll never be completely happy.
