Question 1
m = 2 ; (3 , 2)
y - 2 = 2(x - 3)
y - 2 = 2x - 6
y = 2x - 4

Question 2
m = - 2 ; (4,4)
y - 4 = (-2)(x - 4)
y - 4 = - 2x + 8
y = - 2x + 12

Any line parallel to the line y = 2x + 2 is

y = 2x + c ........................................ (1)
(where c is a constant.)
As this line passes through (3,2) these coordinates must satisfy the eqn.

ie 2 = 2 ( 3 ) + c
=> c = - 4

Hence substituting in eqn (1) we get the answer

y = 2x - 4 ....................... Answer

..............................................................................

y=-2x+3 (4,4)
Any line parallel to this line is

y=-2x+c ............................. (2)

As this line contains the given point, the given coordinates must satisfy the eqn. 2 -

ie 4 = 2 ( 4 ) + c
=> c = - 4

Hence from eqn (2) we get -

y = 2x - 4...................... Answer

get the slope of the line..... then using the points get a equation that will be parallel tot he given line...

here slope of first line, let m = 2
now as the line should be parallel to the given line.... means the slope of that line will be equal to the given line...

now as (y2 - y1)/(x2 - x1) = slope = m

y-2 = 2(x-3)

"y = 2x - 4" this is the required equation..

just like it try the other one you will get.....

For problem 1:

Slope = 2
Y-interception: 2

y - 2 = 2 (x - 3)
y - 2 = 2x - 6
y = 2x - 4

For problem 2:

Slope = -2
Y-interception: 3

y - 4 = -2 (x - 4)
y - 4 = -2x + 8
y = -2x + 12
