The true victims of Iraq.
How can people treat children like this and then have the audacity to class themselves as human beings.

AA Could you honestly say you could just walk away and leave these innocent children in this plight because you feel we have worse here. Every child in the whole world deserves our help and compassion.

people treat children worse than that here at home- we should sort out our own issues before looking over someones fench, look at the amount of sexual abuse we have here.

no that's not what i said but understand that if we sorted out our business here then we would have more of a stand to go into other places. Walk around any big city and tell me what you see, hungry, poor, abused and unhealthy children.

Everyone one is someones child, whats the difference between when someone grows up- they are still someones child, there has been human abuses carried out in Iraq from day one. I don't want to hear what the under funded, low educated people are doing, i want to hear what example the so called liberators are doing in the country!

I'm also saying the only way to understand a country or a place or a region is to live there and know whats going on, if you haven't done that, i have and I'm an qualified and experienced international development worker, so maybe you wouldn't understand now but go and speak to social services here or just sit in the social services duty room for a few hours and hear the stories here.

im also not saying i would walk away but what i wouldnt and cant do is get upset at every case like this because there are so many- since the war began there are now 50,000 extra women and children selling thier bodies in Iraq, its an arab and muslim country- these things are almost alien to the previous society, its the bigger numbers i care for because who do you think the children belong to in the orphanage? Its still a very big issue to have a child out of wedlock in MENA, so these children will end up in orphanages, do you think the 50,000 extra sex workers are using birth and sexual health controls, no. so what will happen to the orphanages, they grow in size.

its one of the signs of a war torn country, we are not even war torn and no matter what you think of the Mccan case two adults have not been taken to jail for what happened to their child, in other countries, they would be facing jail for leaving an angelic child to god knows what fate. So we dont have it right here either.

lastly i will add with the heart you have and the fact you care, i hope that you are doing something positive with this, such as being involved in charity work and campaigning for all to have better lives.

Have a good day and thanks for the question

The only way I can answer your question is by thinking about it the other way round - It seems to me that it is *because* they are human beings that they can act in this dreadful way.

I live beside a big river. Swans, ducks and other water-birds nest on and around our land. I have seen the swans risking their lives defending their eggs from a fox.
Once the chicks are hatched, the parents teach them everything and, astonishingly, they are always supervised. Over the years that it takes a swan to grow up, the parents watch over them 24/7, until they are ready to make their own way in life.
I don't think many animals treat their young as badly as some humans do.
Poor kids.

It's another example of how awful human beings can be to each other. How anyone can think a child deserves to be treated like this is beyond comprehension. It's terrible.

yes I totally agree with you.
Any children anywhere deserve all the love and compassion and safety we can provide as adults. We adults fail when this is not provided in any country.
I cannot bear to hear of this sort of thing against anybody, let alone children.
They are the true victims of Iraq or any war torn country or anywhere full stop.
We adults should feel ashamed of ourselves, big time.

I believe its because its just a job to him.
Managing an orphanage should be a vocation...an inner calling. Visit any orphanage of Mother Teresa's and you'll know what i mean.

Morning Busy Bee. x

That's disgusting, the very people who are supposed to be looking after them, and they treat them like that. It's sick.

Horrible...I have seen also terrible situations like this in Croatia and Romania. Truly sick individuals but this war is responsible and those that support it. Even Saddam himself as evil as he was would have executed these animals.

Simple - they consider life cheap.

Incredibly sad though.
