That's a major change - it may seem like 'only one more' but the difference in age will be a major factor ... while you're trying to make sure the baby doesn't fall off the change table, the twins will be setting themselves on fire in the other room lol

The problem is that with age gaps, they need totally different attention 100% of the time, so you're balancing...

For 3 kids I wouldn't be afraid to ask for 20-25/hr, depending on what you're comfortable with and their situation, obviously.

if you were getting $15 an hour for the twins
I would be asking for at $22.50 an hour for all three as a newborn is just as hard to juggle as the other two kids. Then as this one gets older you have room to ask for a pay rise as I believe toddlers and pre-schoolers can be a heap more work than a newborn that just eats, poops and sleeps!

good luck and consult some nanny agencies and ask them what the going rate for this age children would be.

Wow, that's a big job! Good luck to you!

I guess I would base my answer on several factors: the most important is : how much are you willing to work for them for?

You should also take into account if this is full or part-time and salaried or hourly, as well as what the family can likely afford.

Based on your previous salary with them you could probably get another couple dollars an hour without seeming greedy, unless of course they thought they were paying you too much then.

You could also ask the family what they think is fair/doable for them.

I would look at the different nanny agencies and see what they charge. That way you can tell the family that's what most agencies charge if they fuss about the new price. Here are a few.

Twins = $15/hr
Newborn = $5/hr

additional for diapers and extra utilities needed for a well taken care of kid(s)

A lawyer I knew in New York was paying $500 minimum/wk five years ago for one baby.
