The 2200BG is just a wireless adapter card, it does not have a password. The router it connects into will but not the card.

If someone connected to your computer using that card, its because you have it set to "AD-HOC" mode. Just kill that connection in Control Panel -- Network Adapters -- Wireless adapter. In fact if you aren't using it for network connections. just disable it by right clicking and then click the "disable" line. That will keep it OFF so no one can use it until you enable it.

If you have a breach on your system, change your SYSTEM password from the Control Panel -- Users tab you can then set your passwords so no one can connect to you at all!

The wireless card allows anyone to connect unless you have a system password! So disable the card (since you have no wireless router to connect into anyway), and set a system password.

If you have been -- well, stealing a wireless signal -- you get what you asked for! When you use wireless to connect, you are connecting to a NETWORK, the OWNER of that network has the right to do just about anything he wants with that network.. its HIS network! SO NEVER EVER just connect because you can, only connect to TRUSTED KNOWN networks which you have authorization to use!

It's quite easy, If you look under your router it will have a web address or an ip address, and a login information. Before you begin physically connect your router to your pc, type in the address in any web browser, enter the login information.
Default address on most of the routers is 198.121.1.1 something or www.routerlogin.com
Go to wireless settings.
Over there depending on the encryption chosen during setup you will see a password. Just change it whatever you want. Save it and you are done

Okay if you have wireless network, then there has to be a router somewhere. or you might have a wireless gateway. Gateway=modem+router.
