No; why should you think yourself weird when you want to self-improve yourself?
The Dictionary is full of words that people discover each day.
Don't give in to Peer Pressure; but, do what you like and self-improve yourself.
Nothing wrong with that.

I read it, and I know I have my weird moments-- I don't know about you.
I know several people who read the dictionary, and some will admit to weirdness.
We read almanacs, reviews, weather reports, etc... why not the dictionary, with its complete disregard for the moods of readers or even of what may be the coolest words around?
It's just a great book, that's all, containing bits of this and that from ancient times to times we had no idea existed at all.

The dictionary is really great!
It gives us a chance to build an alternative world where Thursdays come after Fridays and where you can make a ship out of a hip by flipping the pages forward.

I usually start my day off by looking for an interesting word. Sometimes they have multiple meanings or nuances I didn't know. It's fascinating. You're not weird, maybe you're destined for great things.
"Weird is an example of a word whose most common modern meaning is quite different from its original English meaning. The word, originally a noun, dates back to Old English, where it meant fate or destiny."

Not at all. In fact, that is a very good thing. Keep it up. You will succeed in life by educating yourself. You are a thinker and want more knowledge. It will help on your personal development. You will appreciate doing it later in life. You will be able to communicate with all types of people because of your vocabulary. My brother and father did the same thing.
You search for knowledge and you will receive it. Another thing I'm not sure you are aware of is, the bible tells us that "my people are destroyed for lack of knowledge". Jesus was saying that because we don't take the initiative to inquire about things we don't know or understand, all kinds of things happen to us. People can take advantage of us, use us, belittle us for the things we don't know and all other kinds of things. He gives us wisdom if we ask for it, but sometimes we just waste or time and energy on unnecessary things that will not help us grow and become productive in life.
Reading is the basis for a good foundation in school, work and play. More people should be like you. Pass some of what you learn to others that would like to know. It will help grow a culture of educated people that want more out of life, and understand a lot of what's going on in the world we live in.
Continue to plant seeds of knowledge in others and you will reap the benefits one day and know that you are adding substance to your life and to the world. Good job!

Nope... I remember having to write dictionary pages at school when I got in trouble and I actually enjoyed it. So, if you're weird that would make me weird too... of course I suppose that's possible. :)

There are some words in the dictionary that make me happy when I see them. Googolplex, for example. Ziggurat is another. It doesn't even matter what they mean.

Nope, I occasionally do the same :). You can open it on any page and discover something new. A good way to fill in time when you're on public transport. Happy reading!

I have always done the same, nothing wrong with having a good knowledge of words, it's great when you can say something to someone and they don't have a clue what you've said to them, cretins.
