Sure! Christmas is about being together with loved ones and other special people, but if you've only been dating for a month, I wouldn't go out and buy anything huge. Just something modestly priced and understated would work.

If a couples first anniversary is paper, maybe a month-aversary is maybe plastic? Like a gift card?

Just a month you may want to wait til closer to Christmas many guys dump their girlfriends right before the holiday so they don't have to spend any money.

That being said I have always bought nice gifts the few people I have been with I started dating no where near to x-mas so for our 1st I kinda went overboard.

I would say in your case ask him if he plans to exchange gifts and if so I would keep it under $100

He doesn't sound like a materialistic person so if getting a present for his birthday or christmas isnt very important to him then maybe he assumed it wouldnt be to you? i definately understand why you're a little bit miffed about this but it doesnt sound like he really understood that you were expecting something. Instead of arguing over it maybe just say it would be nice to recieve a present next year rather than pointing out the lack of one this year. Maybe just tell him you didnt mean to over react you just felt like maybe he didnt put as much thought into it as you did. Ok good luck and I hope this helps!:)

I think it is ok, however I wouldn't give big extravagant gifts. My husband gave me a nice necklace for our first Christmas and we had just been dating about 3 weeks at that time. It was sweet but not overwhelming.

There is no reason not to if you would like to.. but perhaps you should limit the expenditure for a time. It can make the other party feel very awkward if you don't have a pre-agreed limit on how much to spend. Imagine one buying a cd that has been wanted and the other buys a huge plasma tv. That would make someone feel awkward for sure.

Best wishes

Sure I think it's great... but if you're worried about going too over the top what about just giving him tickets... to a movie... bowling... fair... that type of thing and just make an event of it... so like a really special date that you pay for...

Of course, you should give each other Christmas gifts! We're not talking engagement rings or anything serious but, a nice cd or something will surely be appreciated.

Yes, it is okay. You do not have to go overboard with the gifts...remember it is the thought that counts! That would be very nice idea evn though it is only one month!!!!

definitely! don't get anything too expensive, but small gifts to show that you are thinking of eachother on christmas is totally okay! (and cute!)
