I have 2 guy friends that have voluntarily told me they kissed other guys (on the lips) but they're NOT gay. I know straight girls do it sometimes, but straight men? not too sure! do you know any other guys like this?

This is true - there are millions of guys out there who kiss on the lips - without it meaning anything sexual.

It's a difference in culture. In the West, particularly the USA and UK we are so surrounded by sexual suggestions that we see the possibility of sex in every situation.

So much so that we guys are almost afraid to touch each other at all, let alone kiss.

But think how different it is for the ladies. They have been able to walk arm in arm, get up real close for a gossip, kiss on meeting and parting - all without it being seen as sexual.

In many, many other parts of the world, it is still the custom for guys to do the same - give each other a hug and a kiss when they meet. This can be on the cheeks or the lips - and it means nothing other than friendliness.

I don't want to list Countries because people may say 'Oh, well, what do you expect from them.' (Sigh) But it really is true that we in the US and UK are in a minority in not exchanging kisses.

Kissing each other on the cheek is cultural. For instance, Italian men do kiss each other twice on the cheeks to say hello, once on each cheek. Also other European men do, and also some middle eastern men do. Although I think they assume that each other is straight. However, if you feel very comfortable doing that with your gay friend, and if you do not feel harassed, then maybe you can continue to do that. Maybe he is not attracted to you because you are not his type. Being gay does not mean that you will be attracted to every single man. However, if he was attracted to you, and you are straight, then I think it is not appropriate to shower together, but it is still your choice even if he was attracted to you. But I think that if he was attracted to you he would feel comfortable telling you that, so I do not think that he is attracted to you, and I think it is safe for you to continue showering with him because he has not tried to harassed you. I am gay, but I have never had that kind of relationship with a straight guy.

I have never sought out another guy and kissed him but I have on rare occasions kissed my best friend and I have had another guy kiss me, I wasn't expecting it either. But it has been very rare occasions and usually highly emotional ones. And no, I am not gay.
Honestly it's kinda sad that in this modern society guys can't show much affection for each other. Too much homophobia I guess.
Historically men greeted each other with a kiss and several countries still practice this age old custom.
The Bible even tells us to greet each other with a Holy kiss.
I don't know what the hang up is..........Interesting question though.

Italian men kiss each other on the cheeks all the time but on the mouth never! Are you sure your friend is telling you the whole truth? lol ♥ No, I don't know any man that would kiss another man on the lips and claims to be straight.

What? ...... lol .... I know in other cultures and countries (besides the US where I live) some guys do that but usually it is on the cheek, not on the lips .... as a greeting ..... and of course some fathers kiss their sons ...... but just two straight guys kissing each other, no, I do not know any straight guys that kiss other straight guys on the lips ...... = )

These guys are probably just experimenting. Sexual orientation is more than physical so you can't judge if a person is gay by something like that. Its fun to do things you are not supposed to do or to try something taboo. I have known many guys gay and straight that have kissed and it means something different to every person involved.
