Okay so I'm going to keep asking TONS of labor questions until it actually hits.. so those of you who constantly answer my questions, thanks and please just humor me.. lol. Okay, two days ago I started having diarrhea and it just stopped today.. My appitite has been way weird. At times I feel like eating everything in the house and others I feel like I never want to eat again. I sorta feel like right before you get your period.. just heavy and kinda gross. and achy.. As far as I can tell, I'm not having BH contractions. But I'm not really sure what they are, so idk. But anyway, all day today, all i've wanted to do is sleep. I feel like I'm resting up for something. Like I haven't slept in ages. While its true I don't get TONS of sleep at night, I get atleast 6-8 hours, so I don't know why I'm so tired. So I was wondering if it's my body "resting up" for labor. Does this mean labor is fast approaching? Do any of you have similar experiences?

I'm not freaking out, I just have a simple question. I know I'm fine, so I don't need to be reassured, I was just wondering if anyone would care to tell me if this happened to them and if they experience labor shortly afterwards. Thanks!

Nothing can tell you for sure that labor is approaching, unfortunately. I know how that feels...it sucks not knowing when its going to happen. I assume that this is your first baby? You are not as likely to notice BH with a first pregnancy because your uterus is still toned.

A reason you are so tired could be that even though you are getting 6-8 hours of rest a night, there is little chance that it's good deep restful sleep, and that is why you are still tired during the day. Fatigue just comes along with pregnancy.

So if you're dying to go into labor, have lots of sex (prostiglandins in the semen will ripen your cervix and your orgasms will cause contractions), do lots of walking, and if you're desperate, stimulate your nipples. Please be very careful doing that it can cause strong contractions.

I am going through the same thing right now, but I have been for about 3 weeks, except I am having the on and off again bh contractions. I am 39 weeks and 5 days.

I really thought that I was going into labor 2 weeks ago, I had a great burst of energy, got everything done and then waited.

Now ever since then I have been up for maybe 2 hours and then I nap for an hour because I am soo tired.

When I do lay down I feel like I haven't been to bed for days, and really it has been an hour or two.

As for the eating. one day I am eating everything and always hungry and the next I don't even want to look at food.

I had the diarrhea thing two weeks ago to. now I am back to being constipated.
So I have had all of the "signs" and no baby yet, so I am not sure what they mean. I think they mean that for some women or a women they meant labor but, apparently I am not that lucky.

Good luck.

I can't tell you that I noticed any of those things happening before I went into labor. I have heard that other people do experience these things though. In my natural childbirth class these were things they said were indicators that labor was imminent. Don't worry about the Braxton Hicks...I never had any. To be honest I went to my regular check up, had no signs that anything was going to happen (no dilation, no effacement, no contractions...nothing) then in middle of the night I woke up with mild period like cramping. I was able to sleep restlessly for the rest of the night. By 8 am I knew I was in labor. It was very early stages but labor non the less. I had mild labor that didn't really interfere with my doing normal things...other than the excitement...until about 3 pm. I went to the hospital at this point because I had found out the day before baby was breech. Anyway, when I got to hospital I still wasn't dilated but was just starting to have bloody show. By 5 PM...a little over an hour later I was dilated to a 5.

My point is...it can happen anytime. There aren't necessarily indicators...so if you aren't getting any that doesn't mean it isn't going to happen. It was my first and I had him just 2 days short of 38 weeks.

I was sooooo tired the first part of my first pregnancy but after week 13 I felt great. I had more energy in fact I went 2 days cleaning and getting the nursery ready with little to no sleep right before I had my little girl and after I had her I went 3 days in the hospital with no sleep I dont think I slept until she was a week old lol. I never had the braxton hicks con. at least not that I know of. I'm sure everyone is different in how their body reacts. I would sleep and then sleep some more and then eat hot food and just enjoy the quiet , it wont be long til you will miss it. sleep late my little one woke up at 5:30 every morning . also people will tell you sleep when the baby does well do it I didnt listen at first I tried to keep everything perfect and cook and do everything while she was asleep and it was hard. stock up on the take out menus unless your husband can cook ( mine cant) lol good luck it will be the best thing that has ever happened to you even on the hardest day.

Well I was like 37 week pregnant and I got a weird case of diarea and it lasted 2 days and I did start getting BH I was having small contractions but they wernt strong enough to put me into labor I went to the hospital and my contractions were very inconsistant and I did have cramping and back pain and I was very tired! You get even more tired toward the end cause your carrying so much weight and your about to have your baby I say youll probably have your baby 4 days late!! My doctor told me the same thing and I was I thought I was going to have him early If you want him to come sooner just walk all the time especially when you start to dialate, gravity does it thing and dont get an epadural you push for like 2-3 hours and if you dont get it you pust for like 15-30 and its so much faster. My baby is now 53 days old! Your going to have your baby in a month

Every body is different, and sometimes the pregnancies & labors are totally different. My labors were both different, my first one, I got really active & had to have everything perfect, I had a lot of back pain(or labor), wasn't hungry all day, nausea..my water never broke on it's own, and 12 hours later I had my son.
The 2nd labor, there were no signs, I went to sleep, woke up to use the restroom, my water broke & 6 hours later had my baby girl.
you may be stressing yourself out, it will happen when it happens, and no one can tell you how yours will specifically be.
Good Luck, pay attention to what your body is telling you to do, just try not to stress yourself out over thinking what is supposed to happen when!

I am also 37 weeks pregnant. I know this sounds gross but I have experienced #2 everytime I go to the restroom more than usual. I also feel drained like I've ran a marathon but then sometimes I have all this energy to burn. I have experienced ALOT of cramping in my lower stomach and back. At my last doctors visit my doc could feel the top of my babies head but he said I havnt started to dialate yet. I wonder sometimes if I am going to go into labor anyday. This is my first baby and I am like you, dont know what to expect. Sorry I wasnt much help!

How far along are you? If youre getting close, then your body may be trying to get extra rest. Rest as much as possible. And when you feel good maybe go for a walk. I think thats supposed to help speed up the process. Its supposed to be helpful for labor too. Good luck!

Often, women have a burst of energy in middle-to-latter pregnancy wherein they try to get everything possible done, followed by a period of exhaustion shortly before labor. Have a happy baby. :-)
