I'm a Patriot fan, have been for over 2 decades.
That being said, why do some people insist on blaming the officiating regardless of how fairly the game was called?
Tonight, for instance, if Boller hadn't thrown an awful pass and the Ravens had even kicked a field goal (forget a TD) and gone up 2 scores, they probably would've won the game.
If they hadn't called a TO and the play had stood, stopping Brady on a 4th down, they would've won the game.
If they hadn't committed a penalty on another critical 4th down, they would've won.
If it had been ruled that Gaffney didn't have possession, it still would've been first down, since there was a flag on the play. A 15 yard penalty, which would've put the call on the BAL 4.
On the last play of the game, Samuel was molested on the goal line, which was not called.
Give credit where credit is due. New England played better in the last 4 minutes of the game than Baltimore did. Baltimore only had 3 first downs in the 4th quarter.

Baltimore only had 3 first downs in the 4th quarter - all on the last drive, when the Pats were in prevent D.

Some good answers so far, and (as expected) some moronic ones.

arsenic - explain to me how I couldn't have been a Patriots fan for over 20 years? I have a Stanley Morgan jersey in my closet from when I was a kid. I watched the 1985 Super Bowl against the Bears and could tell you anything you want to know about it.
Make sure you have your facts straight before you make ASSumptions.

Kris i will make it short and sweet for you.
Patriots are winners and have won 3 Superbowl titles in this decade...there will be haters...and alot of them...just like the haters of the Steelers, Niners, Cowboys era.
i am a Patriot fan. maybe not Two decades cause that would make me 4. but i've been one since i was 8 and will stick by my team.
fact is every game will have good calls, and bad calls. they werent going to call a penalty either way on that last play. it would be like calling a foul on a final shot in the NBA.
yes i believe there was enough holding(not alot but enough) to slow down Benjamin Watson. Moss does push off and he also gets some bull P.I. calls against him as well. its football and calls will be made.
but the fact that your trying to justify your thoughts online is futile. just be happy that your team(as well as my team) finished strong and Brady played strong at the time his team needed him the most.

Its funny because most of the responses are so moronic that you can't help but completely ignore any merit the author might have previously held. Clearly there was holding on the last play with Watson, in fact the commentators and the post game analysis replayed the foul many times and everyone agreed it was indeed holding. If you'll notice many other times there was plenty of holding and illegal contact past the legal 5 yards that were not called, and in fairness of the game I agree on most non calls because they were barely above the incidental contact. On the other hand, don't go blaming the time-out as the loss of the game, with 5 minutes remaining and two time-outs and Billick's refusal to put the ball in Boller's hand in the final quarter the Pats would have gotten the ball back. Baltimore played a good game but didn't play all 60 minutes, and when the Pats played poorly, they didn't play poorly enough to dig a hole Brady couldn't get them out of.

The patriots won on the scoreboard which is what counts, but the ravens knocked them out of the stadium. The patriots every week, on every channel, during every part of the day are made up of the perfert team with the perfect quarterback and the perfect coaching, but they aren't. The patriots are beatable and they keep getting lucky, but they will not go undefeated and they win not go to the superbowl. Also the only reason Randy Moss has high numbers is because he has been getting away with the same push off on the defender every single time the ball is thrown to him in the endzone, and some when he's not in the endzone. It is never called. So don't mention that the ravens lost because of their stupid penalties and timeouts which is true...they could have won if those things didn't happen, but randy moss day in and day out every weekend of every game during every play, pushes off on the defender after 5 yards. If you don't see it, pay more attention. Even on his touchdown, Rolle was complaining, and I saw it. The patriots get away with so much more than every other team. Why is it that all of a sudden in the final seconds on 4th down when the patriots streak is on the line...all these bad calls on the ravens just start happening? The pats should have ripped apart the ravens especially since the world is making tom brady out to be like he's the God of football. But they got worked by the ravens all up and down that field. The patriots are soft....the way to beat them is hit them. Look at tom bradys expression when he gets up from being hit.
As a buffalo bills fan, we get screwed by penalties all the time...like the refs are out to get us or something. We play the pats twice every year and every game, whether we are close or losing by a lot...the pats get away with too much.
If you are a patriots fan...i hope you enjoy this winning streak because it's the last you will see. The patriots era is done after this season. They are folding and too much will go wrong for them....watch

You are right, New England played better when it mattered. Not a Patriots fan persay, more of an observer of the Patriots (they used to cut me a check so I stay interested! Same with the Sox) but they showed why they are undefeated, even on a night when they are not at the top of their game they find a way to get it done, like a true Champion should.

A great team will always overcome bad officiating...
That being said, I have to say that I really don't believe any ref out there makes a call in order to help one team.
Yes, refs blow calls, they are human. In a game like tonight, with the Pats streak on the line, the refs had to be even more aware of the fact that they could blow a call...which just makes them more likely to blow one.
But saying the refs influence a game on purpose for one team or the other is just ludicrous.

The Ravens had 100 yards of penalties and both teams sucked on 3rd down. If the Ravens played a cleaner and sharper game they would have won.
This is why I believe in running up the score. Close games produce those "wouldda couldda shouldda" moments.

i don't know. i think this site is being run by lunatics. one guy said the refs were cheating because billions, THATS BILLIONS, have been bet on the pats going undefeated. LOL so you know, big money is protecting the pats by using robots as officials........or something. the ravens covered. why would the refs cheat? i have never heard so much lunacy. i'm a cowboy fan and want to see the pats lose, but these folks are outta control...OR ignorant.

This is not really a question. More of a diatribe from an uninformed couch jockey. You couldn't have been a Patriots fan for two decades. I suggest playing in a fantasy league by yourself.

Yeah Samuel did get molested but he was smiling under the helmet...
And where was the holding on the fourth down play cause I didn't see it...Oh i guess if touching the jersey means holding. Also it looked like the ball was tipped at the line of scrimmage which allows defenders to hold or tug receivers.
PS. How much money was in the box that classless belichick gave to the other guys wife? Anyone know
And "Dirty Thugs" Have you seen Asante Samuel?? I think he has one of his gold teeth in during the game or its just a yellow dirty tooth...
