Get out of the situation that is causing the depression. In my case, it was my job.

Try some Tyrosine. It's an over-the-counter amino acid that is really quite safe.

I first used it myself over thirteen years ago. I had lived with clinical depression all my life and was really getting tired of it. Of all places, it was written in a tabloid newspaper about Tyrosine. I researched it in the library for a couple of weeks, reached the conclusion that it was safe, and tried one dose.

About twenty minutes later, I felt better than I had in my entire life. I do not mean an artificial high or that I was really happy. What I remember feeling was, "Well, life might be tough; but I can handle it." I had NEVER felt that way before.

I knew that I had found an important key. I used Tyrosine for about a year, increasing the dosage to maintain the same effectiveness. Then it just didn't do the trick anymore.

Luckily by then, I could afford health insurance. Luckily, I was prescribed a medication that worked for me the first time. Luckily, my doctor checked back on me to see how I was doing and he increased my dose.

Presently, I am taking the maximum dose of Prozac (80 mg per day) and have been taking this dose for about a decade. I have been very lucky that this has worked for me as well has it has.

So, in conclusion, try some Tyrosine. It's really quite safe and you may experience the same thing that I did. That dark cloud that hung over my head for almost forty years went away and it hasn't been back. I can handle life. Things are far from perfect and I am not giddily happy in every moment, but things are okay.

I was severely depressed most of my life. What worked for me is that I got rid of the doctors, the pills, and the therapy, and I started living. I mean do things that you haven't done in a long time that you liked. Swimming, skiing, ice skating, go to concerts, get out there and live. The exercise suggestion is a very good one too. It really helps.

It depends on how bad it is. Exercise helps and being out in the sun a little bit everyday.

I've heard that St. Johns Wort is good for that. Talk to a pharmacist about it & I pray that you get better.
