So...
I just got caught with Salvia Divinorium. It is legal, but i got caught with it at school. It was in a small baggy, but that was how i bought it.
I got suspended to the superintendent, and i want your ideas on what you think is going to happen.
I didnt know i had it on me. I was looking through the stuff in my pockets, and found the bag of it. A stuudent saw it, and turned me in. I got checked by the principal, and now i have to go to the superintendent. He will decide if I get expelled or let back in school.
Any predicitons on what is going to happen next? Any suggestions on how to get let back in school? I honestly had no intentions of using it, or selling it, and I can't afford to be expelled.
I'm in high school, 9th grade.
Thanks!

Well, I was going to use it, but not in school. I wasnt going to sell it. I have enough money. =\
They know it is legal, but it does get you high, and they know it.

it is legal. I got it off fricken ebay. Im gonna print the record, and bring it to the superintendent.
It is legal for all ages, but illegal in some states.
Like I said, i used some the week before, and must have left it in my pants pocket.

^ school board.
I told the principal that is is legal, and they said that they have to suspend me because it is a look alike? Pretty stupid imo. But i still shouldnt have brought it there.

Legal or not, it was a dumb thing to buy it, dumber still to use it if that was your plan, and dumbest yet to be carrying it because it will probably get you expelled. You probably would get nowhere arguing that it is legal because schools can enforce regulations prohibiting other legal substances such as cigarettes which would be legal for those students 18 or over and I am sure some of your seniors ate that age.

Unfortunately, unless you can convince someone you eat it as a foodstuff, that "look-alike" makes you look like a fool.
Q. If you "honestly had no intentions of using it", why do you acknowledge that "i bought it"? You are B.S.ing someone - yourself perhaps?
Look pal - it does not matter whether it is marijuana or not. It is intended to be used as a drug, even if "legal".
You cannot take an aspirin to school, right? Why do you think you can escape being punished for possession - of something you were obviously going to use to become intoxicated - at a school?
Figure it out - it's not the particular substance that will hang you - you broke the "no drugs" rule. They could do the same thing if you had a cold, and brought cough syrup without permission.
You have discovered now that the law can be twisted, on a technical point, to save or hang whomever the authorities care to deal with.
You are in deep ca-ca. If they let you off, it sends a message they are not prepared to broadcast.
Doh!
Oh - what can you do? Grovel, cry, beg, plead, offer community service. Completely submit yourself prostrate. They have "zero" reason to save you, so it's up to you to ask for one more chance at rehabilitation.
Be mature and convincing. What happens next may well affect the rest of your life in a very negative way. Sorry - this part wasn't in the MTV videos about the downside of the cool world of drugs and rap music.

Approach this with humility and act very apologetic. Make sure they know this was a "mistake" and that you'll never do it again.
That said, you also need to come to them with with an honest assessment that you didn't know it was against the rules to have it, because Salvia Divinorum is legal.
Be sure to have a copy of the rules with you, in order to show why you don't think they apply in this situation. But also keep your apologetic tone in place, or they'll probably be jerks about it.

I accept as true with the 2d individual. for sure, this may well be a crap community and you have a landlord who isn't too choosy approximately who strikes in. you are able to call the police officers on one individual, yet so what? you will the two get some style of reprisal or they get slapped on the wrist and are available returned. Or...they go away and new human beings in basic terms like them circulate in. those at the instant are not reliable circumstances for a new child and you're able to get out of there. and that i could tell the landlady (in case you're able to destroy a lease and he or she complains) that she's doing a poor interest of screening tenants and you had no selection.

Its a hallucinogen. Paint thinner is legal too, but if you have it on you at school for huffing purposes, you are going to get kicked out just the same. So sad that you are only what...14 years old and you already have a drug problem. What do you think your life is going to be like at 25 if you continue down this path?

Do they believe it was salvia? If not, you better get a written NOTARIZED statement from where ever you bought it. Get a receipt if possible. Being expelled isn't such a big deal. You'll recover. See if they'll let you take finals in summer school. You'll still graduate on time and go to college and meet that special someone and get a career and get married and have kids and retire and die.

wow your school is strict! at my high school people get caught for posession of marijuana ALL the time! (im in 10th grade) they usually schedule a court date and you can get your license suspened until your 17 instead of 16, some community service hours, a fine, and a 5 day suspension. the more hours your assigned the less your fine is. for example my friend got 40 hrs and a $37 fine. i guess it depends what state your in too... im in Cali
good luck tho!

It doesn't matter what your intentions were, it just matters that it was in your possession and whether it's legal for you to have it. I'd really suggest that you get a lawyer -- it sounds like you need one.
So, if you didn't intend to use it or sell it, what were you doing with it? That part sounds unbelievable.

in 1972 i used the "I didnt know i had it on me" excuse, and i see it's still a losing excuse. they will look at your intent. what did you INTEND? say it was a stupid prank. otherwise, they may try to say that you INTENDED to sell it as real weed (which is also against the law even though the weed is fake because it was your INTENT to make someone believe it was weed). again, go to INTENT. you INTENDED it as a joke. it was a stupid prank. you are sorry

not much you can do other than try to explain to them that it wasnt marijuana and that it is legal.
but think about it. you accidently bring a knife to school. you hid it from your little sister because she was playing with it and you put it in your back pack. it doesnt have to even be a knife maybe its your hiding cigarettes from your mother because you want her to stop and you put them in your bag. you take them to school and realize they are there and someone snitches on you because you have them. now the school is going to suspend you proly because you have them on campus and some other student could have easily had access to them. whether or not you smoked or were going to give to them any one....
sry but your kinda screwed.
