I view Clara as an older name...but I do think it's pretty. I'm not a fan of the name Joleen at all...but if I used it, I'd spell it Jolene. And keep Clara spelled exactly as you've got it. I don't think it's overused at all, so if you decide on it, I think you'll have picked a pretty, classic name that not every other girl in her class is going to have. Good luck!

How about Clara as a nickname, or short for :
1) Clarabelle
2) Clarabella
As for Joleene, thats a definate thumbs down.
I think these middle names can go with just about any name:
1) Michelle
2) Nicole
3) Leigh
4) Rae
5) Rose
6) Marie
7) Renee
8) Lynn
Good luck name searching!

Watch out for Clara, that name is easily associated with a cow or a woman from the 1800's. I do, however, love the name Clarissa. Cute for a child, but sophisticated even as an adult. Tons of cute nicknames in there too. Joleene is a unique name, but it looks like a typo. Jolee, Jolene, Joleen, or Joline would be better, but I think just the name Jo would be adorable too. It offsets the femininity of Clarissa. (Or Clara)

I like Clara, but don't care for Joleene and I agree, if you use Joleene, I would also spell it Jolene, but I wouldn't use it anyway. I wouldn't put May with Clara, that sounds like a little old lady. Good luck to you!

Clara is pretty. As for Joleene, I could take it or leave it, but I really don't like the spelling. You could try Jolene, Joeline, Joline...

I like the name but it does bring to mind Clara, the cow, on Borden products. Probably means nothing to anyone under 30, however. I would drop an E in Jolene.
"Jolene" is also an old song by I believe Dolly Parton, where Jolene is the other woman. Can you tell I am OLD!

clara is really nice, and so is joleene, but together they sound weird. i kno only 1 clara, and she goes to my school. thers about 900 people in my school, so 1 out of 900..... but thats ok. i think clara anne would be nice if you were into slightly older names, or maybe clara alyse? or clara robin. clara robin flows nicely. or clara marie? clara marie sounds like a city to me though........ i like clara robin. good luck with finding the right name!

How about Clara Emily?
I like Jolene (but without the double E's in the middle).

I think both of those names are nice. No, Clara is not becoming popular at all.
